Top 5 and Mojo Monday 157

I have exciting news. My card for the Peachy Keen Challenge got picked as one of the top five. That is how I earned the new blinkie at the top of my blog. Isn't that nice. It would have been nice to win the $30 to spend but I would have ended up spending more because I love all their stuff. I have to go on a craft budget. I keep telling myself that.  I just don't listen very well. LOL
Boy, it seems like forever since I goned in on a Mojo Monday Challenge. My Mojo was really working yesterday.
Here is  the sketch for this week.
My card is more of a rectangle, and I moved a few things around.
I love this new image from SU.  They remind me of Dick and Jane for the readers of long ago. That is why I used "memories" from SU Defind Your Life.
The paper I used by We R Memory Keepers is so beautiful. I couldn't resist. I had to get the Scrapbook pack because I fell in lover with every page. It has over 500 pieces. There are 12 designer papers with foil - 4 designs -3 sheets of each, 36 designer paper - 12 designs - 3 sheets of each, 1 die-cut sheet with foil, 1 alphabet sticker sheet, and 1 alphabet chipboard sheet with foil. I picked it up the last time I was at the Baker's Wife.  Phyllis has it in her store for $18.00. She doesn't add handling on her shipping if you would like her to send you one give her a call. Only special stores get this paper. So you wont find it at the big box stores.

I lined the inside with a sheet of printer paper that I punched with this sweet MS board punch.

Card Recipe,
Stamp: SU Greeting Card Kids, Define Your Life
Paper: Maple Grove by We R Memory Keepers, SU Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Copic Markers, EK Punch Large Photo Corner Fancy, MS boarder punch

My Pink Stamper Challenge It's Cold Out Side

I had such a wonderful day today. I spent most of the day making cards. It was great! I haven't worked all summer but it feels like the first day I had off all summer to do what I wanted to do. I got up and took a walk at 6:30 AM. Will I walked I talked to my best friend on the phone. We always talked on our way to school and she was worried because I wouldn't be going back to school. Don't worry we both have Blue tooth.
Then I read email and visited blogs. That really takes a while.
After that I headed to my craft room to make this card for Robin's Challenge which is to make a Winter Card.
I have wanted to cut out this little snowman in a snow globe from Doodlecharms for a long time. This was the first cartridge I bought. I think he is so cute.
Here little looks at the inside from the top. I really like to add a sheet of paper to the inside that I have punched with a border punch.
Robin is giving away one of her new stamp sets for this challenge. Oh how I would love to win this cute set called Winter Punnies.

Isn't it darling.  If you haven't watch Robyn at My Pink Stamper in action you are really missing out. She is a real hoot. You will get a good giggle and learn how to make one of here darling cards.

Card Recipe:
Ink: Color Box Frost White (rubbed on the embossed image)
Cartridge: Doodlecharms
Paper: SU Picific Point, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: CB Folder "Sledding," Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Pop-Dots, Flowers Soft Polar White, foil paper

Well wish me luck. If you join in the challenge then I wish you luck. May the ramdom numbers be with you!

Scrapmaster's Paradise Color challege #63

Sami has some great colors for our challenge this week.  I love these rich deep colors. Does the new in-color Pear Pizzazz look like another older favorite color to anyone else?
I ended up making two cards because I loved the color combination. Here is the first one.
This is a SU set.
Here is card number two.
Then I picked up this next stamp set Hobby Lobby. I love this flower.  I stamped it twice. Then cut the center out and layered it on the first one. Then I added a half clear bead that I colored with Copic markers.

I Rock Blog Candy

I was just out visiting blog and I came across Lala' World. She is giving away this awesome I rock kit. I have been looking at these. I would love to try one before I buy one. So maybe I will win one. If I don't win maybe you will. Check it out.

Did you see my side bar? Moriah at Fuzzy Slippers is also offering some wonderful blog candy.

Have fun looking around.

Colour Q #47

Here are the colors for this weeks Colour Q Challenge
Isn't that scarf great? It made me think of fall and school. Arielle at Colour Q is one of my favorite designers. She has the most beautiful cards. One of the images she uses that I fell in love with is by Lori Boyd. The one I just couldn't resist is called Lollipop - LACIE.
Isn't she sweet? I flowed Arielle's coloring "how we do it." I think she turned out great. Thanks Arielle :)

Here is the card. Sorry I should have lower my camera a little.

I just love this paper. The corners are SU Baic Gray punched and then I went over it with Crystal Effects. They endend up looking like metal or wood embellishments.

The ribbon is SU Bermuda Bay. I turned it over because the dots were just to busy. Her skirt and one of the books are paper pieced. The flower I punched out using SU Boho Blossoms punch. The center of the flower say, "Good Luck."

This card is going to a friend who is going to teach first grade for the first time and she will have 30 students. There will be two teachers in the room. She could use some prayer besides the luck.

This card also works for Stamp Something Challenge which is "Get Ready For School."

Card Recipe
Stamp: Digi by Lori Boyd called Lollipop Lacie, CTMH For Every Occcasion
Paper: SU Basic Gray, More Mustard, Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay, Imaginisce Teachers Pet When's Recess
Accessories: Copic Markers, SU Ribbon, SU Boho Blossoms Punch, EK Punch Large Photo Corner Fancy, SU Crystal Effects

I haven't been getting many comment lately. I really appreciate your comment. Just say Hey if that is all you have time for. Then I know someone is looking at my card and that the hours I spend blogging aren't in vain.

Stamp Scrap Doodle Saturday

Hi Everyone,
It is time for another Stamp Scrap Doodle Saturday and our challenge this week is to make a get well card. It is always good to have few get well cards on hand.  This week our sponsor is Digi Doodle Shop.

Judy has some really wonderful digi stamps and great deals. I had a great time just looking around. I think you might too.

The stamp I choose for my card today is called Relaxing Dad. I know that doesn't sound like a get well card but the only time I saw my dad relax or rest was when he was sick. So here is my card.
The sentiment stamp is from SU called Thoughts and Prayers. The card stock is Apricot Appeal and Bashful Blue from SU. I used Copic Markers to color the image.
I hope you will join us this week a Stamp Scrap Doodle Saturday.
I look forward to seeing your creations.

Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma

I am so excited I got time to play today and made a card for Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. This week her challenge is to use the TinkerBell cartridge. This is the one cartridge that I really don't use.  It is hard because there are lots of layers. Emma showed how to use CriKits Gel pens to draw her Princess. It really turned out great. There is a big sale at CriKits.  Yes, I ordered pens!  I am hoping that I will get more use out of this cartridge if I own CriKits pens. I have been looking at them for months and this was just the push I needed.
Emma is giving away a set of markers. If my card gets picked I could win a set. I have my fingers crossed.
Well here is the card I am not so happy with the picture.  The card is very sparkly. I used stickles on her hair and wings. I also added some to the center of the flowers on the background paper. Then I sprayed the whole card with glimmer mist. So you know this card could almost glow in the dark.
And the only thing I see shinning is the flower in her hair and on the ribbon. Oh well you will have to use your imagination. Just Believe like Tinker Bell.

I had a lot of fun stamping with a new group of ladies last night. I met one at a garage sale and she invited me into their group. It is so nice to met other people who love to create. A couple of the ladies make basket that are beautiful.

Tomorrow I am going to an all day Copic Marker coloring class. I am so excited. I bet I don't sleep tonight. I think it is so funny that after teaching first grade for 28 years I now need a coloring class.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow for Stamp Scrap and Doodle Challenge. I am sure you will feel better after you do.

Just Add Ink

Hi Everyone,
When I saw these colors at Just Add Ink I just had to play.

I hope I get this card in on time. The challenge ends today. Where have I been.
I really had fun making this card.  I followed the Sweet Sunday Sketch. I used a 2001 SU background stamp that I got at a garage sale this summer. I really like the stamp but I need a lot more practice using big stamps. I made a mask so that I could stamp in two places in two colors. The other stamp set I borrow from a friend. It is a SU set called Bugs and Kisses.  I think it is so cute.
I used Nestabilitie dies to cut out the circles. I have been trying to improve my pictures by taking them outside. Well it was getting late. The sun is going down earlier everyday. Anyway this is what happen when you take pictures outside without your flower frog.
It blows over and sometimes off the deck and into the yard which is down a long stairway. Well it didn't take the long dive and now you can see that I lined the inside. I like to line the inside of my cards. I feel like they look finished off.

Now I am off to post my card I hope I get it to Just Add Ink in time.

Look What I Caught

I mentioned that I was at our cabin this weekend and if you have followed me you know the cabin is all about fishing. Well, I do love to fish when... the mosquitoes aren't biting, a..n..d the weather is nice, a...n...d the fish will bite. Well that was today. So I went out on the lake in an old row boat and look what I caught..
Isn't he a beauty? It was my second cast. Sad part is that is the only fish I caught today. I guess it is a good thing. He would be hard to beat.
I had a great time watching the Osprey on it nest. It is too late for babies but by all the noise and flying around you would have thought there were babies in the nest. A month ago we saw the babies stick their heads up. I couldn't see them today.
Here is what I was watching.
It was so interesting to watch. Our cabin is on two lakes. This lake is called Red Bass and it has the Osprey. The other lake were the cabin sits has the Eagle and Loons.
Well I hope you enjoy my nature break.

Colour Q #46

I worked hard this week to get ahead on cards for the design team challenges I am on.  I even managed to get a couple made for a  my favorite challenges.
Arielle at Colour Q is one of my favorite card makers and I love her color challenge. Here are the colors for this week.
I love all of these colors so I had to play. Now the card is a little different. I have been on this kick to try to use some of my old stuff. I have been feeling guilty having stuff that wasn't getting used.  So I pulled out this old set from 2001called Snow Angles. I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #81 for this card...
The Wild Wasabi is a little different for a snow/winter card but you do see green pines in the winter, right?
This card also works for Pile It On. Their challenge was to use five cut out shapes. Each one of the snow flakes on the right side are three different punches. Then I cut out all of the layers. There are five of those. Plus two parts of his hat and his mittens are cut out and layered on him.

I could use this card for a Christmas card or a winter card. I am leaving it open to use as needed.

Thanks so much for stopping an please leave me a comment so I know you were here.

Have a great weekend,

What I used for this card:

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

I am so excited that I had the time to make a card for this weeks challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps. I have wanted to join in their challenge for weeks but something always got in the way. Not today! This morning I took my walk and went right to my scrap room and made several cards. The first one was this one for Peachy Keen Stamps. They are having a color challenge
and sketch challenge this week.
I love that these challenges get me to use my cute Cricut cartridges.
Here is my card.
This was so much fun to make. I used SU card stock. I would never have thought to put these colors together but I just love the little kitten. Thanks to Emma at My Creative Time, I am learing to add to the die cuts to make them more interesting. Also thanks to Peachy Keen for the wonderful stamps that really make these little critters come alive. If you are looking for great faces for your Cricut cuts check out PKS.

Clean and Simple Challenge 103

I made this card for the Clean and Simple challenge #103.  This card stared out as a standard size but I decided that I would make it a A4 size.  The stamp set is called Pedaling Past by SU. I have had this stamp for a while and this is the first time I used it. I just love this old bicycle.  The paper is by We R Memory Keepers called Out and About. I just though it was so cute. I used a little strip of cars that I cut off for the bottom of the inside.

When I first saw this paper I though about the Little Tikes cars that I made with my Cricut Lite, B is for Boy. When I finished the C&S card I had a little piece of the DP sitting on my table and a car so I made a  small gift card.
I just love those little cars. My boys had so much fun with their Little Tikes car.

The base card is SU Certainly Celery that I scored with my Score-Pal to create a background.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today. Thanks for stopping.
