I found a couple of challenges I just had to join in on this week. I love the colors at Stamp TV this week and Mojo Monday has a great sketch.
Pink, brown and white are great colors together. The base card is Pure Luxury 120 base weight white card stock. The brown is Chocolate Kiss. Both are from Stamp TV. The pink is SU Pixie Pink. The stamp set is called “100% Sweet” by Rupa Shevde and is from Stamp TV. The pink card stock was embossed by inking the Cuttlebug folder with Memento Rich Cocoa ink before running it through the Cuttlebug. I cut the squares with my Cricut. For the circles I used SU punches. The ribbon is something that I had. I think the image and sentiment are a great way to say thank you for almost anything.
Thanks for stopping. Let me know what you think.

Thank You
Time for thank you cards. I used Stamp TV’s sketch for this card. This sketch is very similar to one from Card Positioning Systems. Their sketch for this week was YOUR CHOICE of any sketch 1 -147!!! CPS sketch #83 looked like the Stamp TV one for this week so I thought I could use this card for both. I hope that is OK. The fairy is from my new Cricut cartridge, A Child’s Year. I thought she was so cute and I wanted to have a card for Dannis Dreams Flutter by Wednesday. I haven't made a card for that challenge in a long time and I love to play there. The base card is kraft card stock cut using the same cartridge. The stamp "Thank you" is from Holiday Greetings by Gina K at Stamp TV. This was a quick card once I figured how to do the size on my Gypsy. Now I have it saved in my Gypsy to use again.
Let me know what you think. Thanks for stopping.

Gift Cards and Candy Bags
Gina K's Stamp TV challenge this week was to make a gift wrap. In her video she made a gift card holder. I watched it while I was eating my breakfast. As soon as I was done I went right to my craft room at 6:00 AM and made two. I needed one for Christmas. I left for work 15 min. later than I normally do and the roads were not too good but I made it to work on time. The weather turned bad and we were sent home two hours early. Yea! we got to start break 2 hours earlier. I made 4 batches of peanut brittle, cut the veggies and made the potatoes for our Christmas Eve dinner. |
The candy bag tops were made using my Cricut Wild Card cartridge.
Well that is it for this morning. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve and a Very Merry Christmas!

Unscripted Sketches #36
I had some time to play today and I went right to the Uscripted Sketches for inspiration. I needed some tags for gifts and I wanted to start some thank you cards. The tags were made with a Cosmo Cricket paper called Merry Berry. The ribbon is from SU and the snow flake was cut with my Cricut and the cartridge When It's Cold Outside. Then I used SU Dazzling Diamonds to add some bling. The to and from are a Stamp TV set.
The cards are made with Basic Grey paper called Figgy Pudding. The thank you is a CTMH stamp. The snowflake is cut from SU card stock Tempting Turquoise. I made the card on the right first but then I just had to make an easel card. I love to make easel cards. I love the way they stand up.
Thanks for stopping and be sure to tell me what you think about my work.

Gifts for My Students
It is getting so hard to get gifts for my students. I use to get them all a book. Now they all read at different levels and the level changes quickly. A library card is better than any book I can give them. I use to give them a new box of crayons but at the beginning of the year I ask the parents to send two boxes for the year. They are so much cheaper to buy then. Well all the children have a new box in their extra supply bag. Every year I have the children make gifts for their parents. So I decided it was the year for me to make gifts for the children. I used my Cricut and Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut personalized bookmarks. They can keep them at school to use in their anthology or take home. I also made them each a bag of magic reindeer food. The top of the bag says :
Magic Reindeer Food
Just a sprinkle on the lawn at night
The moon will make it sprinkle bright
As Santa’s reindeer fly & rome,
this treat will guide them to your home.
It is made with old fashion oat meal and red glitter.
I had fun making these gifts. I just hope the children like them. What do you think?
Have a wonderful weekend.

Blog Candy from Caryl
My dear friend Caryl at Stamps and Stitches is celebrating her one year blogaversary and she has blog candy. Caryl is very talented. She has made a beautiful Jane Market bag and notepad to match. All you have to do is become a follower and leave a comment telling her how you will use the bag and notepad. Isn't this a beautiful and useful bag?
This has been a very busy week for me at home and at school. It really feels like it should be Friday. In the evening I have been making book markers and magic reindeer food for my students gifts. I usually buy something like crayons and note books but I don't think the children care about that. So this year I am trying something different. I decided to use some of the paper and Cricut cartridges I already have to make my gifts this year. I'll post a picture this weekend.
I don't have a card to post but I thought I would post the beautiful picture my hubby took of our
outside Christmas decorations and our tree in the window. The snow really makes it look like Christmas.
Have a great day and don't forget to stop over and say Hi to Caryl

Snow Day!
We had a snow day today and this is what I did.
First I had to take care of the snow. My hubby is still recovering from his shoulder surgery. So... that means I am in charge of getting rid of the snow. You might know we would have 12+ inches. Thank goodness for the snow blower.
The first picture is after the first swipe down the driveway. The second picture is me thinking I am just about done but I still had to shovel out the garage doors. The snow was wet and heavy and my arm are sore. I am sure I will have to do it again before I go to school tomorrow because the wind is suppose to pick up. I has been blowing all day. I am not looking forward to that at 4:30 AM
Anyway the second thing I did was make a set of cards for my Aunt's birthday gift, and paper dolls for my great niece's Christmas gift. I used my Gypsy to lay it all out. I really am enjoying it. I plan to make a gift bag or box and add glue and glitter pens so she can dress them up. I hope she like them. I don't get to see my niece and nephews because they live in PA and I just never get there. I keep in touch on line. These aren't glued together. I just laid a few out so you could see what I was doing.
Well that was what I did today. How was your day?

A Baby Shower Card
I haven't had time to make any cards this weekend. I am still organizing my craft space and leaning how to use my Gypsy. That is the neatest little tool. I am making paper dolls for my great niece for Christmas. I think she will have a great time putting them together.
We cut down our Christmas tree today. It is up but not decorated. We wanted to get it before the snow comes. We are suppose to get four inches tonight and a big storm on Wednesday.
This is another baby girl card. I made this last Monday for a Thursday shower but the baby decided to come four weeks early. She is tiny but so is her mom. They are both doing fine. I did not get to see her but the friends who did said she is beautiful. I'll have to change the sentiment or just make a different card. I just wanted to make a card with this cute giraffe. The pink leaf paper is from a pack called Animal Crackers. The stars I used for her eyes are from Hero Arts I think.
That's all for now. Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping.

Happy Birthday to Me
Hi, Tomorrow, the 2nd, is my birthday. I really don't like the number. But I am excited about my gift. My dear sweet husband gave me my birthday gift a day early because we will be busy tomorrow. So I am sitting here linking all my Cricut Cartridges to my new Gypsy. I am so excited! I am doing three things at once so if this post doesn't make sense that is why.
Anyway here is the card I made for the Color Throw Down Challenge. I am not sure if it will be in on time. The colors were Dusty Durango, Elegant Eggplant, and Old Olive. I also made this card for Pile It On Challenge #26 which is Flowers and Flourishes. It is getting to be my bed time so I am not going to give the details but if you want to know what I used to make this card just leave a comment and I will email you the info.
I hope you have a great evening!
Linda

A Baby Card for the Diva Coffee Break
I have been so busy this weekend. I can't believe that it is already Sunday night. I was one of those crazy shoppers at JCPenny's a 4AM on Friday. I did get some good deals. The best was at Michael's. I got 12 boxes of storage organizing shelves for 55% off. I spent the rest of the weekend redoing my craft space. My sweet hubby helped me put everything together . Then on Saturday we went and got two pieces of counter top to form an "L" shape work area. It's really shaping up to be a wonderful work space. The next step is to do something about the lighting. If you have any suggestion please leave it in the comments.
I had to try out my new space so I took some time out to play. I needed two baby girl cards and I wanted to give the Diva Coffee Break Designs sketch challenge. I love this sketch. The stamp set I used is SU Nursery Necessities. The card stock and ink are SU Rose Red. The ribbon is SU Organza Ribbon. I love that ribbon. The DP is also from SU. This is only the second easel card I have made and I really enjoy making them.
Thanks for stopping and let me know what you think. Have a great week.

Patterned Embossing
I spent most of the day in bed or in a chair watching Stamp TV and craft room videos. My stomach is sore. I am not sure what is going on but I haven’t eaten and I am not hungry. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I am cooking a 22 lb. turkey. I did go to my craft room and try this weeks Gina K technique challenge. It is a new technique to me and I enjoyed giving it a try. I made a mess with my first try but I think this card turn out great. The technique is called Patterned Embossing. To find out how it works stop over to Stamp TV. I used another technique I learned and that is to use a gold leafing pen to edge. I love the way that looks. Can you see were I did that on my card?
Here are the Ingredients I Used:
Stamps: Gina K - Holiday Cheer and Holiday Greeting, Nina Brackett - Vintage Borders
Ink: Memento Rose Bud and Rocket Red, Versa Mark
Embossing: Surperfine Detail Gold Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder and Cuttlebug Allegro Embossing folder
Paper: Gina K Pure Luxury Rocket Red and Ivory card stock
Other great stuff: Spellbinders Premium Craft Foil, Nestabilities and Nestabilities Fancy Tags, and my new favorite thing is a Krylon Gold Leafing Pen.
Thanks for stopping. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

AThank You Card
My friend Terri is still in the hospital. She was in a lot of pain today. It has been one week since her surgery. She has a good day and is very happy about the littlest progress. Then a not so good day follows. Terri is one of the most positive people I know. I would be so depressed by now but that doesn't do any good. When we were walking very slowly around the hospital floor on Friday she stopped and asked an elderly woman if she needed some help. Terri is always willing to help others even when she is not well herself. Anyway she asked me to make some thank you cards for her to send. I am tickled that she asked and I am very happy to make her cards. I made this card tonight using Stamp TV's sketch. The paper is from CTMH. The flowers are from SU. The stamp is from the Eclectic Summer Saying Stamp set from Stamp TV.
I only made one card tonight. I am very tired today. I hope it is just the weather. Now I am going to bed.
Thanks for stopping. Please let me know you were here.

High Hopes Challenge 53 Recipe
This is a quick post. I spent the past 24 hours at the hospital helping my friend Terri and keeping company so her hubby could take a well deserved break. She is doing better but she has a long way to go. Please keep her in your prayers. While she rested I put together some cards I had cut and ready to go. I made this card for another friend whose birthday is this week. She loves blue. I followed this weeks High Hopes challenge. It was a recipe and that was to make a card with 3 Flowers, 2 brads, 1 sentiment. I may be too late to enter it but I thought I should try anyway. I hope you like it. Please let me know what you think.

The Most Amazing Class
Hi, I have been a very busy girl. Last week I went to three amazing card making classes. Then my best friend went to the hospital and ended up having surgery for a blockage between her large and small intestine. She is doing better but please keep her in your prayers.
I made these cards last Wednesday at the very talented Sara Woodard’s class in New Lisbon, WI. She is the most amazing card maker. She is a director for the Angel Company. Sara gave me three books and catalogues. They are full of idea and inspiration. Sara lives about two hours away so I won’t be able to attend as many Wednesday night classes as I would like. I went with two new friends who are also wonderful card makers. They both are teaching me a lot of tricks and tips.
I can't say for sure the names of all the materials I used for these cards but if you are interested email me and I will find out.
I know the pictures don't show how really special these cards are but take my word for it these are the best I have every made. Thanks to Sara!

The Blue Holly Fairy
Hi, This is the same card I made last week but in blue. The picture is not the best. I took it at 7:15AM on my desk at school. I wanted to get it in the mail today. The Pink Stamper had a request on her blog to send cards to a little boy named Noah who is very sick. He is 5 years old and would like to get lots of Christmas cards. He will be celebrating Christmas next week. You can read all about it here at Pink Stamper. If you have a card to send that would be great. Here is what I copied from Robyn's blog.
"A 5yr old boy named Noah Biorkman , is in the last stages of a 2 1/2yr battle with Neuroblastoma Cancer. The family is celebrating Christmas next week and Noah's request is to get lots of Christmas cards. Let's get him some.
Please send cards to:
Noah Biorkman
c/o Scott Biorkman
3480 Petoskey Way
Milford, MI 48380
I struggled with what to write. What can you say? I ended up wishing Noah and his family a special Christmas. Why do sad things happen around the Holidays?
I used all the same supplies as I listed on my blog called "A Fun Day" except I used blue markers and paper. I hope Noah likes the card and gets many, many more.

More Thanksgiving Cards
Here are two more Thanksgiving cards I made today. I used the sketch from Unscripted Sketches and the colors from Diva Coffee Break Design Color Challenge #152. It is a beautiful day today and I should be outside but I just had to play with my new loot from SU. The base card stock is SU Ruby Red. I used Ruby Red and my new Stampin' Around with Cornelli Lace to do the back ground. I need a lot more practice using that big wheel but I love the way it works. I used nestabilites to cut the Brovo Burgundy and Always Artichoke squares. The tree set is called Trendy Trees. I have wanted to use it for a long time but I just didn't have a good layout. I think this one worked great. I punched three tiny circles from Brovo burgundy with a Crop-A-Dile. Then I used CTMH Liquid Glass to make them look like gems. The layout only had two but I thought it looked better on this card with three. I hope it is OK with the girls at Unscripted that I did that. Well I made one more card with some new stuff I got from CTMH but you will have to wait a day or two for that one. I still need to but it all together.
Thanks so much for stopping and all the nice comment you leave. I really do apperciate them.
I hope you had great weather too!
