The Graduation Card

Hi I just finished my stepsons graduation card. We were is such a rush to get there that I didn’t get his card made. I am glad I waited and had a chance to think and plan. The card was designed on my Gypsy. The cartridges were Wild Card Cartridge and Stone Script fonts. The CS was Pure Luxury from Gina K Designs. I used his school colors. My DH came up with the sentiment on the front. The inside has the sentiment that goes with the card.

Here is a picture of all of us after the ceremony. It was a very special day. Now he has to take the bar exam, moving out of student housing, find a job and home for his family. A lot on his plate wouldn’t you say? He is young and very ambitious.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have 4 more days with students. I am not sure how I feel about that.

Father's Day card

This was a very easy card. I designed it on my Gypsy on the plane but I can not find were I saw how to weld the cups together. I think it was my Gypsy A to Z DVD by Megan Gravener at Above Rubie Studio. Some of my other favorite places to learn about the Gypsy are Above Rubies Studio, Creative Critters, and Everyday Cricut.
The cup was from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge that you can only get on the Gypsy. The #1 Dad was from the Stone Script cartridge. I made this card for my step son, Cora's daddy. He is a great dad. This is a picture of them from our trip to Glacier National Park. It was 40 to 50 degrees and raining. We all had to bundle up but we didn't mind. It was beautiful there. This picture was taken in the lodge at Lake McDonald. There was a huge fire place. They walked into it with logs like trees to burn. That is were I walked Cora to sleep when she had her little fuzzy time. It was so nice and relaxing to just sit and watch that fire. It was amazing to see a real fire inside a lodge like that.
I hope you like my easy card.

Happy Fathers Day Card

It is so hot here. I can't believe it is May in Wisconsin. I am just not ready for 90 degrees. I need to get working in the garden but I can't take it.
My DH helped me clean the house and I finally got all the laundry folded and put away. I even had time to make a couple of cards. While on the plane I designed a couple of cards with my Gypsy. So all I had to do was pick some paper and put them together. There are a lot of challenges for male cards this weekend.
I made this first card for my Father-in-Law for Father's Day. He loves to fish and has taught his sons and grandsons to fish. I am sure he would love to teach his great granddaughter to fish too, but he will be 94 on June 20th. We are planning a trip to to the cabin to take him fishing again on his birthday like last year. He has not been feeling well. Please keep him in your prayers.
The card stock is CTMH. The Cricut cartridge I used for the image is A Child's Year. The sentiment was from Plantin School Book. I was playing around with the welding tool on my Gypsy. Happy and Day were welded but Father was in two pieces. I am having a lot of fun learing how to do all that stuff. I learn the most from my mistakes. LOL There are some wonderful blogs to go to for help. Two of my favorite are My Pink Stamper and My Creative Time with Emma. They are two very talented ladies. Robyn at My Pink Stamper is having a Father's Day challenge. There are some wonderful cards being posted. If you need an idea check it out. You can only post one card so I will be back with the other two cards I made today in another post.
I hope you will stop back to check them out.

Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday

Hi Everyone, I am posting this while on vacation in Missoula Montana. So forgive me if I don't remember everything I did to create this card. I thought I had a post all written but I didn't.
This week our sponsor is Creations by Penny and you can win 8 digis of your choice. All you have to do is create a card using the colors Red, White and Blue. I made my card so long ago, because I knew I wouldn't be home, I wasn't thinking about it being Memorial Day weekend. I was thinking about all the thank you cards I wanted to make. When I saw this image I thought it would go great with the Stamp TV sentiment Thanks a million. I used nestiblities to make the frame. The image is from Creations by Penny. I colored it, cut it out and popped it up. I used a SU boarder punch and an old SU stamp to create the inside of the card. Oh and the little heart is from AMuse.
I think that is everything. Now, if you are reading this on Saturday I will be on my way home missing my little granddaughter. She is the sweetest little girl. I am sure I haven't told you that a million times yet have I?
Now go get busy. Red, white and blue isn't hard and you can win 8 stamps.

MIA In Montana

Hi Everyone,
I am in Montana for the week and having a wonderful time. I was going to post some pictures and just realized that I forgot my camera cord. I have so many cords with me but not the one I need to load my pictures.:( It is so beautiful here. I am helping my daughter-in-law at her studio. She is so talented.
I couldn't leave without posting a card. This is one I made at the Madison Mingle. I don't have any of the paper work on this car to tell you about it or who brought the project, but I sure think it was a great card. Who wouldn't work for chocolate. Well, I guess I do have one friend who doesn't like chocolate.
I don't know when I'll be able to post again. It my not be until the weekend. Please don't write me off.

SSDS Saturday Challenge

We have a sketch challenge for you this week at SSDS. Our own, very talented Nicole came up with this wonderful sketch. Our sponsor this week is Polly Crafts and you could win 5 digi stamps of the your choice.
The image I used is from the Lilybean Fairies collection called Clover I Believe. I colored the image with copic markers. The card stock is SU’s Eggplant and Pretty in Pink. I used SU Petals-A-Plenty Embosslits. The butterflies are SU Beautiful Wings die cut and I used CTMH Liquid glass to make it shinny and stand up. The DP and ribbon are from some scraps that I had. I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist Pearl to make it sparkly. You can’t see that in the picture. The sentiment is from a CTMH set called Your Childhood Portrait.
So what do you think? I hope you will give Nicole’s sketch a try and join us at SSDS this week.

All those SU wood blocks!!!

I spent the weekend taking my SU stamps off the wood blocks and putting them on ezmount. I am putting them in the new SU cases. I love them. They are just the right size and they takes up so much less space. I like them better than the hard CD case. I filled 16 cases this weekend and I have about 25 sets to go. Now what to do with all those wood blocks? Well when I was at the Madison Mingle I saw a great idea to use five of these lovely wood blocks. That is just what I did to make this tape runner stand. I had to get some help from a friend with dry wall screws. It really is a handy little stand.
The tape runner I got at a garage sale for $10. I really like it but I need to be more careful. I let it get gummed up and it stopped moving until I figured out what was wrong. A roll of tape last a long time. And I feel like I am being green not throwing way all those little plastic tape cases.
Have you taken your stamp off of the wood block? What did you do with all the wood blocks? I am looking for more idea. If you have any suggestion please leave a comment.

Another Raisin Boat Card

Hi Again!
I just had to post another card I made with the Raisin Boat stamps. Isn't this a great lawn mower? The ribbon on the bottom is something I had and the foot steps were on it. This stamp set is called Lawn King. It is a great set. Robyn at My Pink stamper is having a color challenge. The colors are brown, yellow and green. I just realize that the paper looks orange but it is yellow. It is SU Summer Sun. I guess I got a little heavy with the marmalade. I used Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade distress ink to create the sun, and SU watercolors pencils. The base card is Close to cocoa. I am so sad to see these colors leave SU. I love all the colors. The lawn mower was popped up SU dimensionals.
Now I have to go clean the house. Have a great Sunday!
Oh I forgot this also works for Paper Play Challenge which is brown, And Your Next Stamp Challenge which is to cut it out and pop it up.

Introduing Raisin Boat Stamps

Wow, it seems like forever since I had time to make a card for a challenge.
Thursday the teachers gave me a wonderful retirement party and some lovely gifts. So today I stared making thank you card. Like always when I need a sketch I head to Unscripted Sketches. I love to start there when making a card. OK, I am so excited to tell you about the stamps I used. I got them at the Madison Mingle I went to almost a month ago and today is the first time I got to use them. The stamps are from a company called Raisin Boat and it is a rental company like Netflix. They have a special offer for your fist two months of only $5.99 for two stamp set. You use them as much as you want and they give you an envelope with postage to send it back when you are ready. Then the third month it goes to $7.99 a month for two sets. You can choose a membership plan that fits your needs. If you tell them who referred you and you are still signed up on the third month you and that person both get a free stamp set. You can also buy any of the set. They are $14.99 but if you are a member you get 20% off.
Here I copied this from their sight:

Renting your sets

*Monthly rental subscriptions starting as low as $5.99 / month.
*Free shipping to and from your doorstep on rentals.
*No due dates. Keep your rental sets for as long as you want.
*20% off ALL Raisin Boat sets purchased by renters (not just ones they rent).

They have a wonderful gallery to get ideas for each stamp set. The stamp are high quality. I love the idea that I don't have to keep them. How many stamp sets have you bought for one stamp in the set? This way you can stamp that one stamp in every color you have and send it back. I thought the cost was so reasonable. It cost more for a greasy burger that is bad for your heart. I just think it makes so much sense. They have over 175 exclusive stamps and introduce new sets every week. The stamps are made in the USA and have a crisp image.
Wow, I should sell them. I did talk to them about donating one for a give away. The owners are to young mothers who have a vision and went for it. I wish them all the best. I think it is a brilliant idea.
The stamp sets I used are Purrsonality and Crosswrd Puzzle. The paper and ribbon is from CTMH. The little heart is Creative Candy by Amuse and the pearls are from Kaiser Craft.

So what do you think?

Thanks for stopping,

Stamp Scrap and Doodle Satuday

Hi Everyone, It is time for another Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturday Challenge. This week the challenge is to make a masculine card. Our sponsor is Fresh Brewed Designs and the prize is three free images. The image I chose is called Skateboarder Bee. I think he is pretty cool. My youngest son loved to skateboard and my oldest son always says “what’s up,” instead of saying hello. So I made this card with them in mind. I used my newest cuttle bug folder and some great paper for the background. You will never guess what this paper is. It is the paper they use to like pet food bags. I got it new not used. LOL I think it made a great back ground for this card. The screw brads are from Gina K Designs. I colored the Skateboarder Bee with Copic markers. He has some purple highlights in his hair but the picture didn’t pick that up too well. I was having a hard time coming up with a card for this challenge but I am very happy with the way this turned out. It is very whimsical which isn’t the kind of card I do very often but they are fun.
I hope you will join us this week. For more inspiration check out what the rest of the design team has made at SSDS, and be sure to visit Fresh Brewed Designs. You will find some great digi stamps and idea.

Another Card from Round Robin Saturday

Here is another card from this weekend. We used VersaMark ink pads to create the background on the card stock. Did you know there are different kinds? I love the effect it creates. I really like this bright card. These are not colors I would ever pick out and I love the way this card turned out.
This is just a quick post before I go to school. Have a great day!

Round Robin Card Class

Good Morning Everyone, I wanted to show you a card I made this weekend at a Round Robin Card class. It was so much fun and I learned a lot. But first I had to show you what I did yesterday with my class. We went on a canoe ride. The man way in the back is a retired teacher who use to be our guidance canceler. He does all these wonderful nature field trips for the students. Isn't this the biggest canoe you ever saw? We had a great time even if it was only 57 degrees out. I am in the front. I didn't like that I couldn't keep my eye on my kids but I had four wonderful parents with me so I knew they were in good hands.
I can't tell you much about the card because I don't know what supplies we used. There were six table and we made 3 cards at each and moved ever 30 min I think. It seemed like every 5 min. The top right corner of this card comes off to use as a book maker. Isn't that cleaver?

SSDS Saturday

It is finally Saturday and time for another challenge at Stamp Scrap and Doodle. This week the challenge is anything but a card. Our wonderful sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.
I got this great idea from Susan at Susan's Day Off Creations to keep a binder of all my stamp sets. When I saw this image at The Stamping Boutique I knew I had to get busy. Susan has some wonderful idea for organizing your craft supplies.
The image is a digi so you can make it any size you want. I paper pieced the awnings and colored the rest with Copic markers. The title was cut with my Cricut. I started the inside with a divider and my Amuse stamps. They would be first if I keep it in alphbetical order and I only have one page of those stamps. My plan is to have them organized by company and sets. Then have dividers or sections titled flowers, sentiments and so on. Now the hard part is how to store them so I can find them. The best part of this project is stamping all my stamps and seeing what I have. I have desided that I am going to do this in small steps. It will be one of my retirement project. Right now things are so busy I am having a hard time getting anything done.
Now on to the good stuff the winner of this challenge will get 5 images of their choice. So get busy on all those wonderful projects you have been wanting to try and post them at SSDS.

Challenge #6

Well I didn't get much crafting done today because I spent four hours weeding a garden. My hands are so sore but the garden looks pretty good.
I wanted to play along with another one of Robyn's challenges. The Pink Stamper Challenge #6 is Kids Craft too. We are going to be celebrating Earth Day and Mother's Day this week at school. I know we are late for earth day but with the program early last week our Earth Day got rescheduled to this coming Friday. I thought this would be a great time to teach my class how to make flowers out of old telephone books. I am going to take my Cuttlebug and nestibilities. They will think it is great fun cranking the handle. We made applesauce in the fall and I took my Apple Peeler Slicer. They thought that was cool. I'll poke the hole but they will but in the brad and scrunch up the layers. There will be 9 layer. Three layers of three sizes. I was going to use the small nesties but I bet they will talk me into the larger ones. We will be using these on our Mother's Day gifts. We will be recycleing and making something special for mom. The challenge ends tomorrow. I don't think I will have time to post a picture of them making their flower. I hope this is OK for the challenge.
Thanks for stopping,

I got one student at work. They think the Cuttlebug is cool!

Challenge #3 Thinking Outside the Box

Challenge #3 is "Thinking Outside the Box." Robyn has wonderful videos and today there are several. I learn so much from the videos. I much rather watch My Pink Stamper then TV most evening.
This page is out of the box for me because I used Glimmer Mist for the fist time on letters on a scrapbook page. This the first time I made a flower from velum and Glimmer Mist. I used Glimmer Mist Lily Pad and it matched the background paper real well. I am a little intimidated by Glimmer Mist and I am trying to get the hang of it. The paper on this page is DCWV Nana's Nursery and SU Reagal Rose. I used Cricut cartridge Easter 2010.
Isn't Cora the cutest little girl? Two pages in one afternoon.Good for me but I am feeling bad that I am not out weeding my gardens. I see Robyn is up to challenge #8 and I just finished three. Oh well you do what you can do. Now I want to spend some time watching all those great videos.

Thanks for stopping,

Challenge #2 Getting Scrappy

Challenge number 2 at The Pink Stamper is to Get Scrappy and use up scraps. I needed someone to give me a kick to get my granddaughters scrapbook started and this was it. Now being a teacher I have a very hard time cutting apart books. This poor book was so loved it could not be repaired. I just could not throw it away, which is another thing first grade teachers have a hard time doing. Our family is all about fishing as you may have noticed. I thought it would make a great addition to Cora's scrapbook. The fish were cut from scraps using Paper Doll Dress up cartridge. The check paper was also in the scrap pile.
The birth announcement was made by Cora's mom. She is so talented. She makes the most amazing clothes from recycled materials.
I really like the way this page turned out. Now I just have to keep at it. I have lots and lots of pictures of her already.
