Overalls you all!

This card might be a stretch. The Potluck Challenge this week at Stamp TV was called Dress for Success. You are suppose to make a card with something you love to wear or an accessory. Well I love to wear bib overalls. I haven’t worn mine out in public in a long time because they aren’t in style right now. I do wear an old pair when I work in the garden. They are so comfy and they have all those pockets. I have a pair hanging in my classroom that I hot glued a bunch of pockets on and I use it as a job chart for the students. Maybe I’ll take a picture and show you sometime.
I inked an embossing folder with Memento Desert Sand and used SU So Saffron card stock. I used the other Borderabilities from the Lattice set and Nestabilities ovals to cut out the image. The ribbon is something I had. The image is by Theresa Momber from her set called Autumn Beauty. I colored it with Copic Markers. I think this is a fun card. I am happy with the way it turned out. What do you think?

Stamp TV sketch challenge

This card was made following the Stamp TV sketch. The card stock is Pure Luxury heavy base weight - Pumpkin Spice. The dark blue card stock was something I had. The DP is from the Signs of Autumn StampTV kit. The bling is from K & Company. The stamp is Friendship Blooms by Gina K. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used plain and scalloped squares by Nestability to cut out and mount the image. I like the way this note card turned out. Let me know what you think.

Spotlighting

I made this card using Stamp TV Technique - Spotlighting. I used Melanie Muechinger’s stamp set called A Year of Flowers. I stamped one poinsettia, masked it and stamped it two more times. I used the grid on my craft mat to help me line up the stamps when I stamp the flowers so I could repeat the same stamp pattern. The spotlighted image was cut with a CM circle cutter. I used a dubber with Memento Rich Cocoa. The card stock is Pure Luxury white from Gina K. The ink is SU Rose Red. Then I colored it with Copic markers. The base card is Pure Luxury white. The red and tartan are from a Christmas pack by DCWV. I used CM oval and circle cutting system to cut out the images. The red accent is EK Success Large Flourish Punch. I love this punch. A new challenge for me is Daring Card Makers. Their challenge is to use tartan somewhere on the card. I had to look up the word. I love it when I learn something new. Tartan is a woolen cloth woven with stripes crossing at right angles, worn by Scottish Highlanders. I should have know that. My dad was Scottish and was asked to wear a kilt. He refused. He was 6'2' and was afraid it would be to short. LOL!!
I am really happy with the way this card turn out. So let me know what you think.

Color Throwdown #61

This card is for Color Throwdown #61. The colors are olive, rose red, mustard, regal rose, and chocolate. I was not so sure about the colors but I gave it a try. Thursday I took a class on copic markers. I bought a half dozen markers and Spellbinders Borderablilies die called Lattice. I used one on this card. I really like these die cuts. The ovals are also by Spellbinders. The image is by Theresa Momber called Autumn Beauty. Theresa is on Gina K Senior Design Team. Her blog is Crafting The Web. If you haven’t been there you are missing a lot. She gives step by step directions for coloring with copic markers. The tutorials are fantastic. She is very gifted. The “Hi there” is from Bug me Anytime by Nina Brackett. That was punched out with a SU punch. The card stock is all SU.
Thanks for stopping and please let me know what you thing.

Stamp TV Collor Challenge 31

This is a quick post. I have been making cards all weekend and now I have to make time to post them. I should be cleaning the house and garden but I will get to that later.
This is my card for Stamp TV color challenge 31. The challenge is to use any shade of RED (Rocket Red, Bravo Burgundy or Rose Red, or pinks),Soft Sand (or Kraft), Chocolate Kiss, Cream or white. The boarder is done with Borderabilities from the Lattice set. I use it to cut the card base which is Kraft and then a layer of chocolate brown. The flower is from Gina K's Friendship Blooms set. I stamped it with SU rose red and colored that with Copic markers. The sentiment is from A Year of Flowers by Melanie Muenchinger. I embossed that with white embossing powder. Then I used a VersaMark pen and clear embossed the flower. The white stitching is done with a white gel pen. The little flowers are something I had. The white ribbon is from SU.
Well I am off to clean the house;(

Thanks for stopping. Let me know what you think.

Cinema Saturday

I haven't made a card for Cinema Saturday for a long time. Gina K is the special guest designer this week and there are some nice prizes. She chose the move Pretty Woman. Her card is fantastic. You can see it here. As soon as I read Pretty Woman I knew what stamp I wanted to use. The stamp set is called Be Yourself and it is from CTMH. The DP is from CTMH and is from a pack called Unforgettable. The pink card stock, called Pretty in Pink, and the white ribbon are from SU . The dress is the same DP that I paper pieced and colored with a Jelly Roll Stardust pen. The pink gems are by AMuse. The little tag is from Gina K Designs. It is a plastic tag that you can stamp. It says, "One of a kind," and is from the same stamp set. When I got this set I didn't think I would use it that much but it turns out that it is one of my favorite.
Thanks for stopping and be sure to let me know what you think.

BOO

I made this card for Unscripted Sketches. I had this stamp set in my desk at school. Instead of a Halloween party we have a spider party at the end of our unit on spiders which we study the last week in October. I thought the stamp set was a SU set but it is from JRL Design Co. I have had it so long I can’t remember when I got it. The letters to make ‘boo’ are from a set by CTMH. I used clear embossing powder for the web. You cant see that too well in this picture but it is there. The tag is from Spellbinders called Fancy Tags. I am having a little trouble using these die cuts. It is hard to get the paper out of the die after it is cut. If you have any suggestion or advice about using these please let me know. The Trick or Treat is from a House Mouse & Friends set. I popped up the big spider and the word ‘boo.’ The ribbon is something I had
So what do you think?

Duble Duty

This card and scrapbook page are both made with a stamp set by Asela Hopkins called Framed Friends. The scrapbook challenge over at Stamp TV is called Double Duty. Gina’s challenge was to pick one of your favorite stamp sets and make both a scrapbook page and a card using the same set. I love this set of little animals. They are so much fun to color and they are the kind of image that just makes you smile. The layout for the card is the sketch from Unscripted Sketches this week. I really liked the sketch this week. The card stock is SU certainly celery and so saffron. I used Copic markers to color the images. The beautiful children in the pictures are my great niece and nephews.
Let me know what you think.

Cracked Glass

The technique this week at Stamp TV is called Cracked Glass. I didn't have the thick clear embossing powder and I did have to do the technique many times to get it to work. I think I liked it better before I cracked it but it is a different look. I don't think it is a technique I will use much. Now that I say that I will probably find myself using it more than I thought I would. It would look cool on a winter card.
The stamp is by Theresa Momber call Autumn Beauty. I used Copic markers. The card stock is SU Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Pure Luxury Green Apple. The sentiment is by Melanie Muenchinger. The tag is Fancy Tags.
This card also works for Paper Manic Challenge #2 which is ribbon. Pile it On which is punchers. Do nesties count as a punch?

3D Challenge for September at Stamp TV

The 3D challenge for August at Stamp TV is to alter a notebook of any size. I used one of those black and white copy books and covered it with paper by Karen Foster called Preschool Collage. The image is stamped with a set by Rupa Shevde called Back to School, and cut with Nestabilities. The ribbon I used for the book marker is something that I had. It is attached in the back under the dp paper. On the first page I have a picture of my class. This is my journal for this year at school.
Thanks for stopping and let me know what you are thinking. Have a great Sunday!
