RCAD 18

Hi Everyone,
Well Mary is home but very weak. She just can't eat or drink enough. She is so sweet and appreciative of all that we do. I just wish we could do more to make her strong again.

Well today I have Rolodex card 18 for you.

With this card I was trying to master the are of using glitter. LOL What a mess. I do need a lot of practice with glitter. I am all about the glitter glues like Stickles and Viva Decor glitter. Oh and Glitter Paper.

Raisin Boat Challenge #19

Hi Everyone,  Sorry I am a day late with the challenge. My MIL Mary, who lives with us, was taken to the hospital on Tuesday.  She has a bad UTI. Did you know that you can become delirious and see things that are not there with a UTI? The poor dear, it all came on so quickly. We had to call the ambulance because she was too weak to get in the car. This was 12 hours after taking her into the DR. The home health nurse just happened to be making a visit and agreed that she needed to go to the hospital.  It has been a long two day but she is on the mend.

Now it is time for a Challenge #19 at the Raisin Boat Blog. The challenge this month is Valentine's.
I had a lot of fun following Dawn5377 tutorial for a Pop Up Slider Card. She posted her video on 10/31/13.

Sets I used are  Crunch Time, Playing Cupid, Love Letters, All about You, Heart Attack, Alpha Bold, and Gals on Masterpiece Place .

Here are the measurements I used to make my card.

Cutting and scoring top piece

set at 3 1/2 Cut from 3/4 to 4 3/4

Flip and do the same to other side

Cut bottom put edge at 4 3/4 cut between cuts

Score 1 1/4, 3, 4 3/4

Punch half circle at top of 4.25 X 5.5 pieces

Glue or sew slider to the 1/2 inch at the bottom center piece.

Glue or sew the 3 sides not the top

Make sure you put your image pieces above the 1 1/4 score line.

Add ribbon and enjoy!

RCAD 13,14,15

Hello There, I have had  a few busy days. I still took the time to do my Rolodex Card A Day but I didn't get time to post it until now.  We had to take my MIL to the hospital yesterday. Poor lady is sick with a UTI which is very hard on a 93 year old.

Here is a picture of card 13,14, and 15.

Here is the video. The sound in the last half is bad. I am sorry. I worked on it but still it isn't very good. I got a new mic and am learning how to use it.

I made some more of the pretty paper from the back of napkins and Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays. I love making that. I used it on my Rolodex Card A Day today. Plus I used my sewing machine.

ICAD #6 and #7

Hello There, I have two more ICAD's to share. I tried to join the video but it didn't work. So there are two short video showing what I did to my rolodex card a day. I think I am going to change the name to RCAD because I am rolodex cards instead of index cards.

For those of you who don't know about ICAD, it is a daily art practice or exercise to keep you going and fill your need to create. That is what I hope to do with mine.  I have to have a few minutes each day to do something I love.

This one was Pinterest inspired.

I was inspired to draw this one after watching Magdalena Fernandez 's video "My Life Book 2013

Here are the two short videos showing what I did to create these cards. And yes I do need lots of practice drawing faces.

ICAD#5 Out of the trash

My son sent us some videos for Christmas and in the box you get all these little ads that are trash. Well I saw these lovely mask and decided that they would be fun to build my ICAD card around them.

Lace page for Scrapin Happyxo Challenge

I got a new sewing machine for my birthday in December and I have so much to learn. I do love learning new things. Well, I watching some of my favorite YT videos and Jeanette who is  Scrapin Happyxo on YT had a challenge I just knew I had to try.  Jeanette does the most beautiful things with lace. She wants to make some books with lace pages. She would like people from all over the world to join. Jeanette lives in Australia.  As soon as the video ended I went right to work. I even did a few flowers with silk ribbon that I am just learning how to do.

I had so much fun with this. I did add a flower to her hair before I packaged it up. It was a lot of fun and I know I will be doing more.
