Gypsy Tip from Me

You know I love my Gypsy and I play with it like a video game. Sometime I design things and forget what I had in mind. So.... I came up with an idea and it may help you.
My Tip
What you do is make one of the layers for notes to yourself. Like number things or write the color you are want to use.

I keep seeing all these new die cuts and punches that I want. Then I think I should be able to make that with all the cartridges I have. I found some I liked and made a file. Then I cut a sample sheet.
This is the sheet of label I made. After I choose the one I want I can make it any size.  It isn't perfect because it is just a reference sheet for me.
This is how it looks on my Gypsy.
This is Layer 1. I have the eye closed for the next two layer. You get the layers my tapping the + sign.
This is how my tip works. On one of your layers write a number or the colors you want to use. The next layer is the image.
This is layer 2.
Then I open a third layer and work with want I want by using the copy and paste button.
Layer 3 is a label I need for this week.

This is the label I am going to use.

This one I call label 10.  I will be using this one this week on a special project for something I am making for my Guest Designer Day at SP & Company on Friday.  The lines were made with SP & Company Scallops and Lines stamp set. This really is a very useful set.

Here is another example of a file I have saved with the colors I want to use.
This is layer 1.
Layer 2
This is what it looks like with both eyes open.

This is so helpful to me and I hope this will be helpful to you. If you have any questions please ask. I love to help when I can.

Please leave a comment so I know you were here and what you think of my Gypsy Tip.

Hi Welcome to my blog. If you are a new visitor please leave a comment so I know that you were here. If you like what you see become a follower and I will visit and follow you too.
This week our challenge at Stamp, Scarp and Doodle is, "Anything Goes." Our sponsor is 2 Cute Rubber Stamps and you could win 2 digi stamps and one rubber stamp of your choice if you are chosen.

I used a couple of challenges to help me with my card.
I used Enfys' challenge at Going Buggy (party day one) to make a card with a bug. The sketch is from Peachy Keen Challenge 43. The colors are just ones I wanted to use. The sentiment is a SU stamp set called Curly Cute.  The bug was cut from the Cricut Cartridge Paisley.

I hope you will join us at SSDS this week. I am looking forward to seeing your creations.

My Creative Time Throwback Thursday

Hi Everyone, I have been having fun making shape cards thanks to Emma at My Creative Time. I have learned so much watching her video on how to use the Gypsy.
This is the card I made for this weeks Throwback Thursday Challenge.  The challenge is to use an older cartridge and have a heart somewhere. Well I made the whole card with a heart.
The heart is the same one Emma used and is from the Sweethearts Cartridge and the owl is from Hoot n Holler. The stamp is from My Pink Stamper and the set is called Tweetie Hoo Puns. The ribbon is from SU. I used Peachy Keen stamp for the beak. The owl is popped up and he eyes are covered with stickles.

I have some exciting news for you. Next week SP and Company will be showing off their latest stamp sets and we will be having a blog hop with PRIZES.

The hop is set for Thursday, January 20th so be sure to stop back for that.

Hubby's Birthday Card

Boy this is a week of birthdays. Today is my hubby's. I made him a shape card using this fishing vest from Paper Dolls for Everyday Cricut Cartridge.
"I know he can't wait to go fishing"

Here is the inside of the card.

This is what I made for him.

Gary's Mom and Cora and a view of the lake from our cabin.

Gary's son James, Gary, Gary's dad and Cora

Cora and I on her visit at Christmas. She has a smile like her daddy.

I got this box from JoAnn's (I think?). It spins and has glass in all four picture pockets. I painted it and glued on DP. Next I inked the edges. Then I added some embellishments and the pictures. On the top I drill two holes and tied an old wooden spool for the handle to open the box. I added one of his feathers. Then I filled the box with candy and a gift certificate for a book for his iPad.
I sure hope he likes his gift and that he will put it on his desk at work. I really enjoyed making this gift for him.

New Stamps from SP and Company Stamp

Today I have a new stamp set from SP and Company to show you.
This set is called Candy Hearts. Isn't it wonderful?
Here is my card.
I stamped and embossed the sentiments. Then I stamped the hearts and cute them out. The puppy is from a Cricut cartridge called Sweethearts. The heart is a card I made by welding two hearts together. They are also from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge. I learned how to do this from Emma at My Creative Time.
Here is a peek at the inside. The sentiment is from the same set Candy Hearts.
Be sure to stop by the SP &  Company blog to see what the rest of the talented ladies have to share with you.

Scrapmaster's Paradice Color Combo #82

Good Morning, I am a little late posting my card for Scrapmaster's Color Challenge today. Sorry:(
The is a wonderful challenge and the prize is really special. For this week's prize, Samantha is going to offer something different. The winner of the week will become a guest designer for a week here at SPCC!!! What a great way to get your blog off and running and a great way to share your love of crafting.

Here are the colors:
Use this color combo for your project -be it a card, scrapbook LO, 3D or altered item. You do NOT have to use Stampin' UP brand colors or products, but you do have to use colors close to these colors.

Entries are due on Sunday, January 16th at 3PM EST. Next Monday, we will showcase the winner on the SPCC Blog

I had fun with these colors. I just got the Elmo Cricut cartidge and I want to try out a technique that I learned to do on my Gypsy. I changed the Elmo cut out to a heart. Then I filled it with candy. It is a fun little Valentine treat box.
For the sentiment I used SP & Company Ultimate Sentiments I Stamp Set. I also used a SU heart punch.
Here is peek inside.

I will be making 17 of these for a friends classroom. They are so much fun and easy to make.

I hope you will join us this week for SP Color Challenge #82. You will love being a guest designer at Scrapmaster's Paradise. I can't wait to see your projects.

Have a wonderful Monday.

Stamp Scrap and Doodle Satuday

I am so excited about this challenge because By LORi Designs is our sponsor this week.
Lori has generously given us a $10 gift certificate to her store as a prize for this weeks challenge. Our theme this week is New Beginnings. That could be a wedding, a new years layout, birth of a baby or anything that means a new beginning to you.
I love Lori's babies so I made this card.
The sentiment is one of Lori's new sentiments. I love that she is doing sentiments now. This card is really a pretty pink but the light is just not getting it.
The paper is Amuse. I have had it for awhile and just came across it in a drawer. I love their paper. Now that I found it I will be using it more. That is my goal to use what I have more.
I hope you will join us this week at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday.
