Flat Faylene came to visit.

Hi Everyone,  Most of you are familiar with Flat Stanley, but do you know about Flat Faylene? Well Gia over at littlecanvases on You Tube has started a Flat Fylene Challenge.  I loved loved loved playing with paper dolls when I was a child and I just had to jump in this challenge.
Faylene came to visit and she was determined to help me get my washy tape and small spools of ribbon in order.
Here is a video of how she helped me. Wait until you see what she brought with her to do the job.

Now a head over to You Tube and check out littlecanvases video here. There is a contest and the viewer can vote on their favorite Faylene. I would love your vote BUT only if it is your favorite. There are some really clever ladies out there. This was a lot of fun and that is the prize in itself. Oh and I am sure Faylene will be visiting me again.  So I hope you enjoy the video.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Art Journal Challenge #3

The Art Journal challenge at Your Paper Pantry for February was Love and to use red on your page. The technique we were to try was Pastel Scratching Technique.
Here are my pages.

Here is a video showing what I did.

Here is the poem I used.

Key To My Heart
Author: Nicole C. Moore
Late at night when I'm sound asleep,
Into my heart you softly creep.
I sit and wonder how it could be,
But you must have stumbled across the key.
This key holds the secret to true
love and more,
So take it now and unlock the door.
And I pray that we will never part,
Now that you have the key
to my
heart.

I am really sorry that you had to add the code to post a comment. I really hate those things but the minute I take it off my mail box fill up with spam that comes from comments on my blog. If anyone know how to stop that please let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Raisin Boat Challenge #8

It's time for challenge #8 and our second challenge for 2013! I don't know about where you are but here in Wisconsin it has been pretty gray and drearier. We are counting the days until the first flower blooms. That is why we thought a great theme for this month's challenge would be, "Flowers."

For this month's challenge, you can use any stamp set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps). That's right, use any stamp set you wish for this challenge, but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

So break out those flower stamps and get started. If you are looking for some new flowers to add to your collection or you want to rent one check out the wonderful collection Raisin Boat has in stock Here.

You can link up you card at the Raisin Boat Blog.  Look for this button.
If you need any help please let me know.

I look forward to your "Flower" creations for this challenge! Here are two cards I created.

I used BloomTiki Hut card stock and Memento Ink for both cards. All can be found in the Raisin Boat store.

Here is a video to show you how I colored the image.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful crafty day.

LESSology Challenge 22 How Charming!

Hi everyone, It is time for Challenge #22 at LESSology. We have a fun challenge this month called How Charming and we want to see charms on your up-cycled project.
We have a wonderful prize for you this month. This month's sponsor is Design Team member Julie Tucker-Wolek who has generously donated a $20 gift certificate to Elle's Studio!:)

My project  started with an old legal folder. I created a pocket for a swap I am in over at YPP called "Thinking of You" Angel Pocket.  I sprayed the folder with some glimmer sprays and a stencil made from an overhead.

I made some of my charms using shrink plastic.

Some of the charms were off of an old frame. Charm are fun to use and really add a lot to a tag or card.
Here is the video telling all about my creations.

I hope you will join us this month.  Add some charms to an up-cycled project and link it up here at the LESSology Challenge blog.

Have fun creating!

February YPP Ticket Swap

February Artsy Fartsy Ticket Swap~Tickets and Storage over at Your Paper Pantry.

I am the hostess for the Artsy Fartsy Ticket Swap at Your Paper Pantry. This month I am changing things up a little. This month I want you to make 3 strips of 5 tickets (instead of 5 of 5) and a BOOK or Container to store your tickets. You can make your book from scratch or show us one that you bought. If you uses a container share that with the group. How every you store your tickets is fine. I just want to see them.  Post a picture or video at YPP. The theme for the storage can be anything that you want. The tickets should be one strip with the theme Spring, one strip with the theme Easter, and one strip with the theme St. Patrick's Day.
Use glossy accents or some other dimensional medium to highlight the stamps. Ink the background. And sign your art work. Most of all have fun!

There will be a prize this month. Everyone who gets their tickets in by the 20th and shows their storage will be entered in a chance to win a packet of Tim Holtz tickets, 5 pockets like the ones I made for my book and a Graphic 45 6X6 French Country Patterns & Solids Paper Pad.

LESSology Challenge #21 Your are my Sweetheart

Time for the January LESSology Challenge. The challenge is called You are my Sweetheart and you need to have a heart in your up-cycled project. You may be looking at this picture and thinking  I don't see a heart but this was made form the heart of my furnace.

The death of the furnace brought forth the birth of Mr Cool.
It all started around Thanksgiving when I was advised to replace the thermostat, which I did. Then a new electrical panel was installed.

I kept the old one. Still the furnace would not stay lit.   January 3 the old  furnace was hauled out and an new one was brought in with a new thermostat. I collected the parts and Mr. Cool was born. He is a real sweetheart!  I added an old strainer, a paint stirrer, cardboard tubing, a frame, a tea strainer, and a beating heart all with wire.

.
I know my creation is a little different but I had the heart of my furnace just sitting there begging to be used in this challenge. I hope you like my creation and that you will join us this month at LESSlogy for our challenge, “You are my sweetheart.” Your up cycled creations needs to have an heart, and I can't wait to see what you create.

Here is a little more about my project.

The January sponsor is Echo Park!!

The prize is the "For the Record 2" collection
