Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma

Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge this week is to make a thank you card the old school way. No cricut, no Gypsy.
This set from SU called Day of Gratitude is definitely a fall set, but when I get a stamp set I always try to look for more way to use it. I want to see if it would work for an angle card.

Isn't she cute? I need to get the lighting right in my light box. The picture doesn't show how she sparkles. I used white embossing powder to do her dress and silver to do her wings. Her halo is covered in Stickles. The face is from the Peachy Keen stamp set called Winter Faces Assortment that I won from one of Emma's giveaways. I just LOVE this set. To makes this card really "Old School" I used stickers for the (U R An) that I got about 7 years ago at a Creative Memory party. Her hair is some fuzzy fibers. The words "Thank You" are stamped down at the bottom right with white ink. You can't see them but they are there.
This card is going to my in-laws' neighbor.  She has be so good to them, checking on them and bringing them meals.  I wanted to make her a special thank you card.

Here is another project I did with this set. I got the idea from LeAnne here. I just started them because I only had two mint patties. I have to get more peppermint patties and add the Happy Thanksgiving but I wanted to show you before Thursday. Yikes, is it only thee days away.

This is the stuff I love to make. Thanks for the great idea LeAnne!
Well I better run I have two Thanksgiving dinners to plan and make.

Be sure to stop by Tuesday for

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge

I am so excited that I had the time to make a card for this weeks challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps. I have wanted to join in their challenge for weeks but something always got in the way. Not today! This morning I took my walk and went right to my scrap room and made several cards. The first one was this one for Peachy Keen Stamps. They are having a color challenge
and sketch challenge this week.
I love that these challenges get me to use my cute Cricut cartridges.
Here is my card.
This was so much fun to make. I used SU card stock. I would never have thought to put these colors together but I just love the little kitten. Thanks to Emma at My Creative Time, I am learing to add to the die cuts to make them more interesting. Also thanks to Peachy Keen for the wonderful stamps that really make these little critters come alive. If you are looking for great faces for your Cricut cuts check out PKS.

Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma

Happy Friday! I made this card today for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge #8. I love that she has these challenges because it gets me to use my Cricut Cartridges.  I used my Gypsy to design it. I don't have a Peachy Keen stamp to fit the puppy face so I inked a nose and stamped it then I inked eyes and stamped them from the set below. I used chalk to color him and a white and black pen for detail. The Happy Birthday is kinda hard to cut out but I used Megan's cutting guide from Above Rubies Studio. It is a helpful tool. You have until tomorrow to enter Emma's challenge and she has a really great prize.

Other Challenges:
Pile it on - banners
Stamp Simply #149 - Two's Company (two of something) two words, two flower
Totally Stampalicious - For My Best Friend

KL Stampin' N' Scrappin': Ribbon

*Stamp: Peachy Keen Stamps Critter faces, I stamped in two parts
*Paper: SU, Almost Amethyst, Lavender Lace, DS Paper Pizazz
*Ink: SU new Concord Crush
*Acc: SU Pastels, Kaiser Rhinestones,Crystal Stickers rhinestones, Dimensionals, Zig two way glue,  Sponge, Stardust Gelly Roll Clear Pen

Do you see my new card holder? I was in an antique store looking for one and the sweet lady said she saw one at St Vinnie's.  So I headed right over. I only paid $3.50 for it. I am sure if it was at an antique store it would have cost a lot more. I have seen other people use them and have wanted one for about a year now. Boy was I happy when I found it still sitting right were shes told me it was. Then  I looked around and found the big stack of envelopes. I love treasure hunts when I find something useful.

I have another card to show you later today but I need to go to the grocery store before it starts raining again. So be sure to stop back.

Emma's Throwback Challenge

This weeks Emma's Throwback Challenge is to use the New Arrival Cartridge.
I am trying to make another Cora book for her mom. I have finished the first two pages. For this book I am making her name at the end of each page instead of under each page like in my first books. I was going to make a video of doing this book but I had so much trouble I decided to leave it to the experts like Emma at My Creative Time, Christian at Creations with Christina, and Megan at Above Rubies Studio. These ladies really know there stuff. I have Megan's Gypsy A to Z and I couldn't have done what I did without her help.

I made the monkey to look like Cora's favorite little friend. Then on the second page (O), I used the sweet little sweet pea cut, because she is such a sweet pea. I used Peachy Keen stamps Critter Faces SET A Medium and Everyday Character Face Assortment to stamp both the monkey and the baby pea face. I used Viva Decor Glitter Liner and a white gel pen to add dimension. Oh yes, I used Copic markers to the edge of the cuts.

I went through so much paper getting the four page cut. I can't tell you what paper I ended up using. Each letter has two DP and a core of cardboard. I used old cereal boxes.

The grommets are from SU.

I have two more pages to do. Oh, no that isn't right. I will want to do the back of each page too. So stop back to see what I come up with.
