Exciting News!

Hi All,
Well if you have noticed something new on my side bar then you know my news. I have been chosen to be a DT at SPCC. I am so tickled and honored to be on this wonderful team. SPCC stands for Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combos. SPCC Challenges are posted every Monday. They've got a lot going on there every week so be sure to click the button on my side bar to see the current SPCC challenge. Challenge submissions are due on the following Monday. A winner and SP Top Five will be posted the next Tuesday. AND did I mention each week, there will be amazing prizes to be won?? These are the colors for July 5th.

I am waiting for an order from US. I hope it comes so I have the colors for Monday. It is not a requirment to use SU but I just like to use the exact colors. That is just me being a little OC. I love the new colors. Isn't that Cajun Craze wonderful. Be sure to check back Monday to see if I have my first card posted.

Color Throwdown #100 and Peachy Keen Challenge

Color Throwdown is having a wonderful celebration for their 100th challenge. The colors are:


Aren't they wonderful? Wait until you see all the prizes they have to give away and the beautiful cards at all the design teams blogs. I was thinking about a card to do for Peachy Keens Challenge #32 which is Summer Destination and when I saw these colors I knew just what I wanted to do. I am, or was, a swimmer and I love to go to the beach and swim in an ocean or a lake. My favorite place to swim when I was in college was in a quarry. I learned how to do synchronized swimming in high school and loved to practice in the deep cold water of a quarry. Boy, do I wish I was still in that kind of shape.

This little cutie is from Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge. I uses all SU card stock and stamped her face with one of the Peachy Keen wonderful face stamps. I wheeled her fish part and the shell with the Cornelli Lace wheel and used a glitter pen on her top and the sea horse. I used my Gypsy to weld two shells together to make the card base. Other supplies I used were a white gelly pen, SU chalk, and SU ribbon.

Three Challenges

Do you ever have a day when you sit at your craft table and are so happy to have the time but don’t have an idea of what to do? Then when you try something it looks like junk. Well that was my day. I am having trouble with shoulder pain and it is coming from tight muscles in my neck. It was spoiling my crafting mood. Well I gave up and went off to make dinner. After dinner I went back to my craft table and there were the images that I colored earlier in the day. I didn’t think I had the right colors for Colour Q Challenge #40 , but I had two of the inks and I used a water brush to color the images. I also had all the card stock colors. The Jugs #40 sketch was sitting on the desk and BONK! the hammer hit my head. There was the card. The next part was easy and the card went together in 15 min. I love it when it works like that. It is a bit busy but I think it works. What do you think?

Unscripted, Pile it On and Always Playing with Paper

I don't give you very interesting titles do I? It takes all my creative energy to make the card. Creative writing has never been one of my strong points. Writing is a struggle for me because I have some dyslexic tendencies. Sunday I read the most interesting post at Unscripted. They are starting a new article called Painless Journaling Sunday with Sarah Kaye. It is really very interesting and I am hoping to get a few tips.
This card I made using Unscripted Sketch #63. OH, I was picked one of their top three last week with this card. I am so honored. I really love their sketches.

The challenge for Pile it On is challenge #26 called My Favorite Things. Well I have so many favorite things. Number one would be paper, then my Cuttlebug and all those wonderful embossing folders that change card stock into wonderful textured paper. It also cuts using many different types of dies. I used CB EF Dotted Swiss, and Nestibilites scallop circle on this card. The card stock is SU but the DP was from my scraps so I don't know the name.

The challenge for Always Playing with Paper Challenge #5 is a theme challenge called Oh Baby. I used SU stamp set call Nursery Necessities. I love that set.

My Pink Stamper Challenge

I made this card for My Pink Stamper's color challenge. The challenge is to use Pink, Brown, Orange and Green. I made this using Create a Critter, Sassafras DP called Sunshine Lollipop, a white Gelly Roll pen, and a Peachy Keen face stamp. The monkey and the sentiment are all cut out using SU card stock. The litter bird part of the DP.

Emma's Throwback Challenge

This weeks Emma's Throwback Challenge is to use the New Arrival Cartridge.
I am trying to make another Cora book for her mom. I have finished the first two pages. For this book I am making her name at the end of each page instead of under each page like in my first books. I was going to make a video of doing this book but I had so much trouble I decided to leave it to the experts like Emma at My Creative Time, Christian at Creations with Christina, and Megan at Above Rubies Studio. These ladies really know there stuff. I have Megan's Gypsy A to Z and I couldn't have done what I did without her help.

I made the monkey to look like Cora's favorite little friend. Then on the second page (O), I used the sweet little sweet pea cut, because she is such a sweet pea. I used Peachy Keen stamps Critter Faces SET A Medium and Everyday Character Face Assortment to stamp both the monkey and the baby pea face. I used Viva Decor Glitter Liner and a white gel pen to add dimension. Oh yes, I used Copic markers to the edge of the cuts.

I went through so much paper getting the four page cut. I can't tell you what paper I ended up using. Each letter has two DP and a core of cardboard. I used old cereal boxes.

The grommets are from SU.

I have two more pages to do. Oh, no that isn't right. I will want to do the back of each page too. So stop back to see what I come up with.

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday

It is Saturday and Stamp Scrap and Doodle are back with a wonderful challenge. The challenge is a shape card and we are being sponsored by one of our very own Design Team Members Erica Falk-Huzar. Her blog is Paper Craftin' with Erica.

If you don’t know about the Angel Company give them a look. They have wonderful products. Their Inspiration book is fantastic. It has lots of tips and “try it!” boxes to get you thinking.

I made my bear card using the Doodlecharms cartridge and my Gypsy to weld two bears together. The stamp on his belly is from an Angel Company set called Everyday Cuties. I think he is so sweet. Thank you Erica. The Designer Paper is from a pack called Reece by Soar With It Collections. Angel Company carries this paper in their catalogue. The ribbon is something I had. I used a SU oval and scallop punch to cut out the image.

Color Throwdown #99 and Card Patterns Sketch 70

I made this card for Color Throwdown #99. When I saw LeAnne's card, I remembered that I had this stamp from Prickley Pear and have not used it. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
The base card is SU turquoise. I used a jel pen to go over some of the flowers in the stamped image. It isn't excatly the same turquoise, but I like the effect it added to the image. I used a CB folded called Morrocan Screen, and one of Tim Holtz's EF called Patchwork. The ribbon and old buttons are from my stash. The hardest part was the scalloped edge. I used a SU boarder punch. I need to look through my Cricut cartridges to see if I have one that I can use to make scallop rectangles. I will be checking on that.

I used the sketch from Card Patterns Sketch 70. There sponser this week is Gina K Designs and she has donated a beautiful stamp set. You know how I love my Gina K stamps. I haven't been using them much lately. I must have too much stuff and not enough stamping time.

The inside of the card is stamped with another Prickly Pear stamp. It is so true. Life is so much easier with a friend by your side. I am so thankful for all my dear friends. This includes all my new online friends. In the past year I have made some very special friends on line that I have never met in person. They have become very close and have added a lot to my life. I hope I have done the same in return.

I met my DH on line. But that is another story.

Curtain Call and Papertake Weekly

Hi, I made this card using Curtain-Call-Color-Challenge colors. The are red, white, blue and kraft. The challenge at Papertake Weekly is to use stitches. The stars and image are cut using A Child's Year Cricut cartridge. The ribbon is something I had. It was a quick and easy card and I love the way it turn out.
I have a few birthday cards to send out in July and I think this will work for that. I love the little image. It looks like it is blurry in the picture but that is because of the colors I think.

I am off to the grocery store and then I get to try some more challenges.

ColourQ #39

I keep missing the deadline for the ColourQ Challenge. So I thought I would get right to it this week. The colors are Brovo Burgundy, Real Red, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, and White.


I have been looking through the new SU catalog and feeling guilty, as my list gets longer and longer, that I am not using what I already have enough. So I took out two of my SU punches, a big wheel and came up with a way to use them in this challenge. Can you tell what punches I used?

The hot air balloon was made by taking the Very Vintage jumbo wheel, Brovo Burgundy ink on some Real Red and punched out with the Extra-Large Ornament punch. I added half of a Curly Label punch for the basket. Then I added some black cord. The sky was made using Brocade Blue CS in a CB EF called Vine Swirls. I rubbed it with white ink. The clouds were cut with my Cricut and the cartridge called Paper Pups. I don't know were I got the "hi there" stamp. The ribbon is from SU.

I wanted a light color on the inside because the base card is Brovo Burgundy. I even used my SU boarder punch for on this.

There now the guilt is gone. Well almost.
Now were did I put that new cataloge?
