February YPP Ticket Swap

February Artsy Fartsy Ticket Swap~Tickets and Storage over at Your Paper Pantry.

I am the hostess for the Artsy Fartsy Ticket Swap at Your Paper Pantry. This month I am changing things up a little. This month I want you to make 3 strips of 5 tickets (instead of 5 of 5) and a BOOK or Container to store your tickets. You can make your book from scratch or show us one that you bought. If you uses a container share that with the group. How every you store your tickets is fine. I just want to see them.  Post a picture or video at YPP. The theme for the storage can be anything that you want. The tickets should be one strip with the theme Spring, one strip with the theme Easter, and one strip with the theme St. Patrick's Day.
Use glossy accents or some other dimensional medium to highlight the stamps. Ink the background. And sign your art work. Most of all have fun!

There will be a prize this month. Everyone who gets their tickets in by the 20th and shows their storage will be entered in a chance to win a packet of Tim Holtz tickets, 5 pockets like the ones I made for my book and a Graphic 45 6X6 French Country Patterns & Solids Paper Pad.

So if you are not a member at YPP head on over. It is only $12 a year and a ton of fun.
Here is my book.
Here are my tickets.
Here is the video telling you all about my creations.
I hope you will join this fun swap at YPP. The sign up is open until Feb. 5.

Have a wonderful crafty weekend!

Another Valentine Idea

I have been seeing a layered card all over the web that I wanted to try.  When my Raisin Boat stamp sets came in the mail I just had to get busy.
I used this set called Playing Cupid.  There is so much you can do with this set.

Here is what I made.
Here is how I made it.

A Challenge

Hello There,
A You Tube friend, Lydia, from ItripledogdareU is having a TP challenge.  Now using TP rolls creeps me out so I did cook mine in the microwave. I am making this little gift for my dear sister. She is having rough time taking care of our 91 year old aunt and I just felt like she needed a little gift.
Here is what I made.

Here is how I made it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Raisin Boat Challenge #7

It is time for challenge #7 and our first challenge for 2013 over at the Raisin Boat Blog.  Our theme this month is "Love is in the Air."

For this month's "Love is in the Air" challenge, you can use any stamp set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps). That's right, use any stamp set you wish for this challenge, but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

This a great time to make a card for a loved one just to say how much you care. Or you could be stocking up on wedding cards. This challenge end on February 12. You might want to make a Valentine or two.

We hope you'll join our "Love is in the Air" challenge. Here are a few cards I made to inspire you.

Now it's your turn! Create any "Love" project and link it below. (If you have trouble linking it up, simply email it to customerservice@raisinboat.com and we can link it for you.)

Remember, you don't have to use Raisin Boat stamps, but if you do, you will get TWO chances to win a SET of your choice!

Here is a video telling about the sets that I used.

LESSology Challenge #21 Your are my Sweetheart

Time for the January LESSology Challenge. The challenge is called You are my Sweetheart and you need to have a heart in your up-cycled project. You may be looking at this picture and thinking  I don't see a heart but this was made form the heart of my furnace.

The death of the furnace brought forth the birth of Mr Cool.
It all started around Thanksgiving when I was advised to replace the thermostat, which I did. Then a new electrical panel was installed.

I kept the old one. Still the furnace would not stay lit.   January 3 the old  furnace was hauled out and an new one was brought in with a new thermostat. I collected the parts and Mr. Cool was born. He is a real sweetheart!  I added an old strainer, a paint stirrer, cardboard tubing, a frame, a tea strainer, and a beating heart all with wire.

.
I know my creation is a little different but I had the heart of my furnace just sitting there begging to be used in this challenge. I hope you like my creation and that you will join us this month at LESSlogy for our challenge, “You are my sweetheart.” Your up cycled creations needs to have an heart, and I can't wait to see what you create.

Here is a little more about my project.

The January sponsor is Echo Park!!

The prize is the "For the Record 2" collection

My Journal for YPP

I am having so much fun at YPP.
I am in an art journal challenge. I used an old army medic bag to create the cover of my journal.
I think of art as first aid to my mental health. LOL

Please watch the video to see how I recreated this bag into an art journal.

I hope that this inspires you to do something creative today.

Two More Swaps for Your Paper Pantry

I completed two more of the 12 swaps/challenges I am in at Your Paper Pantry.  The first one is for the Wine lovers swap and you are to use cork on a card. I made an easel card. The flower is cork. You can see the inside of the card in the video.

The second project was for the flower swap. You are to make 3 sets of five button flowers. I made another cork button flower like the one on the card.

The video will show you what I used and how I made these two projects.
You have until the 5th to sign up for the swaps and challenge at YPP.  I hope to see you there.

Happy Creating,

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
Well I am getting a new furnace for the new year. I spent the day trying to get the furnace to kick in but no luck. You might know when hubby is staying with his mom while his dad is in the hospital. Poor guy has so much on his plate.  Friday the furnace man was here and got it started but said it was time. So I ordered a new one and it will be here Thursday.  Not sure about tomorrow. Hopping they can get it started for one more day.
I also spent the day working in my craft room. I am in 11 fun swaps at YPP this month. One is the one I host called Artsy Fartsy Ticket swap.  It is only $12 a year to join and it is the best $12 I spent last year.
Here is the video of my tickets.

Another swap is the Mail art swap.

I will share a few more tomorrow.
It is a lot of fun at YPP check it out.

I hope your New Year if full of wonderful new beginnings, lots of love and lots of learning new and wonderful things.

Hugs,
