Sketch Saturday

This card is for Sketch Saturday Birthday Challenge. I used a sticker from The Paper Studio. The sticker has glitter on it. I wanted to use one of the stickers from this set for a while. I love this sticker. I hope it is OK to use stickers. I don’t know the name of the happy birthday stamp but I liked the font. I used a SU punch for the sentiment which is attached to SU C Celery grosgrain ribbon. I used Kraft card stock for the card base. This is another birthday card for add to my birthday card stash. Let me know what you think.

Taylored Expressions

This card is for Taylored Expressions Challenge #70. I love the layout. I thought this would be easy since I had some DP and a stamp set that all go together. This card took a long time. I had the wrong ink at first. Then I didn’t stamp it good. Finally it came together and I really like it. The paper, ink and stamp are from CTMH. The large brad is from SU. It is called build your own. The ribbon is from my ribbon collection.

Our Creative Corner

This is my card for Our Creative Corner. I started with Kraft card stock then but ribbon across that. Next I cut the basket with my Cricut using Doodlecharmes. The blue flowers are from Fiskers. The birthday stamp is Dainty Thoughts from CTMH. The green stems are a SU stamp but I don’t know the name. I think it is just a fun little card. Let me know what you think.

Stamp TV

I made this card for Thursday Sketch Challenge at Stamp TV. Stamp TV is a fun place to visit. There is so much to learn. I am a visual learner and the videos are great.
I used purple card stock for the base the pattern paper is a Karen Foster design paper called Friendship Knot. The stamp is from Great Impressions called Garden Critters and I colored it with Copie Markers. The happy birthday was stamped with Versa Mark and embossed with SU white embossing powder. I have a friend who loves purple and gardening. Her birthday is this summer. Now if I just remember that I made her a card and where I put it I’ll be doing good.

Two Challenges

I made this card for Crafty Monkeys Challenge 25 “Lets get buggy!” I used the layout from Kerin Sylvester’s Thursday Sketch Challenge #15. I love the the sketch. It was easy to work with but it still took over an hour to come up with this card. I used Kraft for the base. The pattern paper is something I found in an old scrap folder. It is so pretty. I cut the two flowers with Nestabilities, and stamped Happy Birthday with Versa Mark. Then I used SU chalk to make it show up. I chalked the bottom flower to enhance the embossing. The green leaves were cut with Sizzlits Little Leaves from SU. The pink ribbon is form SU. The bee stamp is a CTMH stamp called Little Garden. The Happy Birthday was a CTMH set called Playful Flourishes. I colored the bee with glaze pens. I layered the flower and bee with dimensionals. So what do you think?

Dare U 2 Digi

This card is for Dare-U-2 Digi Stamp. The image is one I got from Squigglefly” One-a-Day in May Digifest. Isn’t it cute. The base card is black and the pattern paper has cat prints on it. The little mouse is flying away. I liked the black, red and white. The stamp, “What’s Up?,” is from Hero Arts. I stamped it with Versa Mark and use SU white embossing powder. The black and white checkered ribbon is something I had. This was a fun card that can be used to say hello. Let me know what you think.

Two Challenges

This card is for Dannis Dreams Flutter-by-Wednesday #55 and Card Positioning Systems. Dannis challenge was to use brads or eyelets. I tried eyelets but I kept smashing them with my Crop A Dile tool, so I went with brads. They were all in a set but I don’t know the name of the company. The base card is kraft, the pattern paper is from K & Company. I used a stamp set from Inkadinkado by Brenda Walton. Her name was on the package so I guess that means it is by her. I couldn’t find any other name. I used SU white embossing powder for the white stamped flower, Color Box Chalk ink pink pastel for the butterfly, and SU Always Artichoke. The pink satin ribbon is something I had in my ribbon collection.

Stamp out Alzheimer's

This card is for Mojo Monday. They are sponsoring a Stampin Out Alzheimer’s event. The challenge is the great layout but more important than that is the cause. Millions of people lose loved ones every day to this horrible disease. I made this card and my donations in honor of my dad. We were never told if he had Alzheimer’s but his memory was gone. He could not remember all the wonderful stories of his life. The saying on the card is about nature and it says to take only memories and leave nothing but footprints. This disease takes all those wonderful memories. Help stop this disease, go over to Mojo Monday and read more about it.

CHOCOLATE Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

“Oh, for the love of CHOCOLATE!”
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge was to use some sort of chocolate. I just bought the two stamps I used yesterday on our way home for up North. They are A Muse stamps. One is called chocolate assortment. The other stamp say, “Man cannot live on chocolate alone, but woman sure can.” Isn’t that great? I just had to have that one. I never liked chocolate until my first pregnancy. That was twenty-five years ago. Now dark chocolate is my craving. My chocolate loving friend always gives me Godiva bars for Christmas. I have been saving this one but I think it is time to brake it open. I can always get another on to put in this gift box. Please let me know what you think.

High Tea for High Hopes

This is the other very cute stamp I received from High Hopes. I absolutely love this little angel. The challenge was to use pink and brown. These are probably my favorite colors to use so it was easy except for one thing. I only own R20 blush and R00 Pinkish White Copic markers to use for the pink. So for the blouse and tea pot I cut paper and layered it. I do this for bulletin boards but that is a much larger scale. The hair, skirt and shoes were colored with E33, E57 and E37 Copic markers. The gems were from K&Company. The ribbon was something I had and the get well stamp is from Inkadinkado. I made five cards today and this by far is my favorite. Let me know what you think.

Sketch Saturday

This card is for Sketch Saturday. I thought it was a fun sketch. I had to make it with bugs. It just has been that kind of week for me. The paper is from DCWV called Spring Stack. The stamp is from Me & My Big Ideas and one I got years ago. I colored it with Copic Markers. the flower are some I cut with my Cricut and the blue one is from Heidi Grace. The Hi stamp is Hero Arts.

Taylored Expressions

We went to the cabin on Friday after work and had to leave on Sunday because the black flies were too much for me. I felt like I was in a snake pit. They were everywhere I went. My sweet husband gave up a good evening of walleye fishing and brought me home. He is trout fishing today so I don’t feel too bad any more. We try to avoid all the big holidays up there but because of a meeting we went.
The card is going to the person who hosted our lake association meeting on Saturday. He does so much work and it is out of the love for the lake.
This card is for the Taylored Expressions challenge. I love the layout. The chair stamp is from Great Impressions. I colored it with Copic markers YG03, YG67, B24, R35, E57, E33, BG10 and Y17. Then I distressed the edges and tinted them with YG03. The thank you was a new stamp I got while we were up North. It is from Inkadinkado called Garden Flower. Base card is Kraft and the other two colors are Certainly Celery and Garden Green.

KWarners #53

This card is for KWerner’s Color Inspiration #53. I used SU pacific blue card stock for the base card. The flower is a stamp from Close to my Heart called Spring. I stamped them with Memento inks; Tuxedo black and Dandelion yellow. I just got the little Dew Drop ink pads from Memento and they are great. The thank you are white stickers from Creative Memories. I have had them for years. The little red butterfly is from K&Company. The ribbon I had but the little buckle is from CTMH. Cutting the flowers out was kinda hard. I need more practice. I really like the colors this week. My camera really doesn't show the true colors.

Happy Birthday Stef

A dear sweet lady is having a birthday, and instead of her getting gifts she is giving blog candy. Her blog is Glitterbabe.

Stef this cards for you! I hope you have or had a wonderful day and all your wishes come true.

Coming June 5

Wow, another new challenge coming June 5. Stampin for the Weekend blog will be having a new challenge and they have blog candy to get you interested. It looks like fun take a look.

Black Fly Yikes!

This is what the tiny black fly did to my eye. The bite was on the outside of my eye but the swelling spread all the way around my eye. I am very allergic to them. Now I am taking an antibiotic and I miss a day of work. I tried to make the pictures small. I didn't want to frighten anyone.

MoJo Monday

This is a 2002 stamp set for Stampin Up. I love R.W. Emerson quote, “When it’s dark enough you can see the stars.” I think that is so true. We find ourselves looking for the good in the bad. I lost my first baby in my eight month in 1980. I remember being so thankful that I didn’t get to have her and then loose her even though I had never before felt so much sadness.
The background paper is from Creative Memories. I stamped a scrap paper with SU Darling Dots. Then I colored the dots and added stitches with a gold glitter pen. The star and bottom border I cut with my Cricut. Then I added a white ribbon because I thought it needed more.
This card is for Mojo Monday

Three in One

This card is for Dannis Dreams Flutter-by-Wednesday, KWerner’s Color Inspiration Challenge and Taylored Expressions Challenge #68. The base is mustard, stamped using a stamp from CTMH Aspiration set with saffron ink. Then I used two DP from SU and cut them with my Cuttle Bug and Nestabilities. Next I stamped the butterfly, a CTMH stamp called Butterfly Wings, with saffron and VersaMark. Then I used mustard embossing powder to make it pop. The baja flower was from a die cut sheet I won at a SU class. Over that I layered a flower cut with SU five petal flower punch using more SU DP paper. Then I stamped and embossed another flower for Aspirations for the center. Last I used my Martha Stewart border punch and a thin strip of baja and saffron for the left side. I hope you like this card.

Bad News, Good News

The bad news is that I am not feeling good today. I got bit by a black fly last night and I am allergic to them. They always bite by my eyes. I look like someone hit me. My eye is very swollen, itches, and is kinda blistered. Sometimes I get a fever when I get bit. This time I just have a headache.
The Good News...I had the nicest surprise today, which makes everything better. When I went to the mail there were two stamps from High Hopes. I called about a week ago to order an ant stamp. I was having trouble using the web sight and they were having phone trouble. Then I spoke to Tina. She was so sweet and said because I was a fan that she was just going to send it to me. Then she went and sent me two stamps. I was so excited that the headache couldn't stop me from making a card. Isn't it cute? When I was little my mom and I would sing the song High Hopes. It is about a little ant that tries to move a rubber tree plant. I got the move "Hole in the Head" last week and watched it with my hubby. That is the 1959 movie that the song comes from. He said he enjoyed watching the movie. I just think that is the greatest name for a rubber stamp store. I hope you like my card I am going to enter in two challenges. The one at High Hopes and Stamptacular.
The card is on kraft paper, I colored my High Hopes ant with copic markers, I cut circles and taped them around the back to make it look like a flower and I doodled the petals with a green jell pen and the edge of the card with a brown fine point marker. The ribbon at the bottom is something I had. I love the foot prints. They are from the little ant tracking mud in from the garden. I hope you like it as much as I do.

New Challenge

There is something new. The Next Level is a new challenge sight. I copied this from their blog. It says it better than I can.

A BRAND NEW CHALLENGE IS BORN

The Next Level is the exciting new concept of Dawn (All Pink Girl) and Ann (Madgesty - Love to Create) probably better known as blog name Madge. Our aim in designing this new informative style of blog is not only to produce really creative Weekly Challenges that are not tied to any specific brand, but also to explore new avenues, ideas and techniques with a completely fresh approach.

The Next Level will not only be a fun and informative place to hang out for card crafters and scrapbookers of all levels, but it is hoped that it will also become a valuable source of information, hints and tips, tutorials, downloads and much more. We want to cover the craft of traditional card making but also add in a touch of digital, not too much to scare anyone away, but enough to explore the magical world out there at your fingertips for anyone wanting to venture.
Take a look. I think it is going to be fun.

Sketch Saturday

Here is a card I tried for Sketch Saturday. I think it turned out a little busy for me but I liked working with the layout. Let me know what you think. The tree stamp and paper are from SU. The little bird is an old CTMH. I know it is old because it is on a wood block. I tried getting into stamping 10 years ago but I didn't have the time or money so the few stamps I had just sat. The felt flowers are from Two Peas in a Bucket. I got them free when I attended their 10th birthday party. That was so much fun.

MoJo Monday

It is a beautiful day here and I want to get outside and play but first I want to post some cards. This one is for Mojo Monday. I loved the sketch. It was too much fun to pass up. I used all SU paper and stamps. The ribbon was something I had. It showed up darker than it really is. I used clear embossing powder on the images. You can't really tell that from the picture. I like this card because I can use it for anything. Let me know what you think

Two Challenges

I made this card for two challenges. Stamptacular Sunday and Danni's Flutter By Wednesday.
The paper and stamps are from CTMH. The stamps are from the Aspirations set. I love the flower. I stamped it twice then put 15 bitty brads from CTMH on the top flower. I used SU chocolate chip to stamp the image, the word dream and quote. The CTMH paper is call Unforgettable. The ribbon is Robin Hood Red from SU. The quote says "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." The quote is from Eleanor Roosevelt.
I made this card as a graduation card for a student who helps in my classroom. She stayed all day on Thursday and now thinks she may want to teach a different grade. She was very tired after a full day in first grade.

Cupcake Craft Challenge

Hi, I made this card for Cupcake Craft Challenge. I'm kinda late and want to get it in before the challenge is over. The challenge is to make a boy card. I have a student that is into camouflage and wears it everyday. I made this with camouflage paper and colored his shirt with copic markers to look like it was camouflage. The card reminds me of him. He is always putting his hands up and jumping around.

I just notice that the picture is blurry. I'll try to take a better picture tomorrow in the sunlight.

Wow! this is a big birthday party and everyone is invited. Here is your invitation. Go to Dottie's World and read all about it.

New Card

I made this for the Paper Take Challenge. The image is a digital stamp by Tim Hunter from Hambo Stamps. I used my new copic markers to color it. I loved doing that. I used Heidi Grace paper for the card base. This paper is so pretty on both sides. I hate it when I have to hide one side. So I decided to fold it so that I could show off both sides. Then I tucked a piece of paper on the inside and cut it to the shape of the card so that it wouldn't show when the card was closed. I stamped little flowers with a Penny Black stamp on the paper. I really like the way it turned out. Let me know what you think.

Copic Cards

Here are the cards I made yesterday at the copic techniques class. I had a great time. The class was at the Scrapbook Superstore in Madison, WI. I am looking forward to the next class.
The last card was a free make and take. I love that it is a thank you to mom. A friend of mine had a call from her son Thursday morning. He had been up all night with his one year son. He called to thank her for all she did for him, the worry, the support, the sleepless night. We all stood an cried as she told the story. You just don't know until you are a parent yourself what it takes. Happy Mothers Day!
