Rolodex Card A Day 334

I drew this picture a few weeks ago when I was visiting a friend. We were watching the movie An Unfinished Life. I tried to draw Jennifer Lopez. I am still down with this cold so coloring sounded like a good idea.
I know t doesn't really look like her but it is still fun to try. The sentiment is one line from the movie, "Is this something we are going to have to talk ALOT about?" I love that. I know there has been a few to many times I would have loved to use that line. LOL
Here is the process video.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

Rolodex Card A Day 333

Todays's card was inspired by the following quote, and some of the goodies I got at the show last weekend.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order,
confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home,
a stranger into a friend.

Rolodex Card A Day 328

Todays "Thankful Card" was inspired by a word that was used to describe me by one of my You Tube followers.  I am truly thankful that I have "Tenacity." I guess when it comes to my Art Cards that is the best word for me. I am so happy with this past year and this project. A little over a month to go and I am still enjoying every minute. I hope you are as well.

Here is a close up of the fairy.
I sprinkled some Martha Steward beads in the glossy accents. That turned out to be a great effect.
Here is the process video.

Rolodex Card A Day 324

I thought since Thanksgiving is a week away I would do some thankful cards.  Todays I am thankful for an educations. School wasn't easy for me and my dad was most surprised that out of his three children that I was the one who earned masters degree. He was always helpful, supportive and encouraged me to just try and keep trying.  Thank you Dad!
The card started with this great picture from an old book.  The young man is trying to read and has to tune out everything to study. I struggle on many occasions but am so thankful that I was able to earn my degrees and work in a field that I truly loved.
I wrote, " I am thankful for my education and my struggles."  The struggles made me a better teacher and more understanding.  The struggles also made me appreciate my accomplishments.
Here is the process video.

Thanks for stopping and I hope you find many things to be thankful for today!

Rolodex Card A Day 323

Well it is that time of year here in Wisconsin, the snow has started falling.  I love the snow but not the cold. Winter has come a month early. I hope that means it will leave in March.
RCAD 323 was created with some old designer paper that is vinyl with a sticky back. I used a Diemond Dies  Snow flake set. I love these snow flakes. Diemond Dies just came out with some wonderful words, tags and tree dies. I am so tempted.
Here is the RCAD 323

Raisin Boat Challenge #29

Christmas will be here before you know it. Raisin Boats challenge to you this month is to create something with a Christmas theme. This could be a card, tag, invitation, scrapbook page, or an art journal page -- anything! Use any set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps), but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a FREE stamp set of your choice! You can enter as often as you like.

Remember, you can either buy OR rent Raisin Boat sets -- no guilt in using a set for just one project like your Christmas cards. We have an amazing collection of Christmas theme stamps and four new sets.

Here is what I created.
You know me I had to created something funky. I created the tree using Going in Circles. I also used Corrugated Box on Red delicious cardstock for the layer under the tree. I started with Brighton Beach White and colored that with 3D Stamp Paint lime. Then added dots with glitter liner Ruby
Here is the process video.

Head on over to the Raisin Boat Challenge and show me what you are creating for Christmas. I look forward to seeing your entries.
Thanks for stopping,

Rolodex Card A Day 322

The inspiration for RCAD 322 came from a bottle cap. I really love the colors and the goose. I had some fun with an old punch and a new Spellbinder die.
Here is the process video for you.

Rolodex Card A Day 321

RCAD 321 was created with some feathers I picked up on hikes while in Montana an a quote from Emily Dickinson.
Hope is the thing with feathers that
perches in the soul - and sings the tunes
without the words - and never stops at
all.
Here is the process video for you.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful Monday!

RCAD 320

Rolodex Card A Day 320 was created from a very old post card.
I know you might think why cut that up, but why not? They have been sitting in an attic for 40 years and now in a box in my basement. It is time to reuse them. I hope you like the card. I had fun recreating it.
I used bling, flower soft and some of my homemade woke of stella. That was a big mess and I think it is wise to just buy the real stuff. But I can not resist an experiment. Now I have a bottle of floor wax so I will be making more. LOL
Here is the process video.

Artist Trading Card for Your Paper Pantry Swap

The challenge this month for theArtist Trading Card at Your Paper Pantry was to use bottle caps.
I created this little angel.
Here is the process video.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful weekend!

Rolodex Card A Day 319

I was worried I would  not get to post today the internet was down all evening and I wasn't sure if it would work today. Yea it is! I think it must be the cold weather. It never made it to the 30's yesterday.
Todays card was inspired by an ATC I am working of for a YPP swap. I will share that later
I love thinking about angels being all around us. I created this angel with some metal, paper feathers, and dollies that I cut.
Here is the process video.

The quote says; "To see an angel, you must see another's soul.
To feel an angel, you must touch another's heart.
To hear an angel, you must listen to both."

May you hear an angel today!

Rolodex Card A Day 317

Wisconsin like the rest of the country is getting hit with some very cold weather.  Up North, were our cabin is, 12 to 16 inches of snow fell. We had 10 snow flakes. I always want snow, until it comes and stays and  stays and stays.
Today's card is a dedication to snow. All 10 snow flakes that we got.  I think it is too cold to snow here. LOL
Too bad that the camera doesn't pick up the sparkle on this card. I used my newest Raisin Boat Rental called Heavenly Holidays. I think that snow angel is so sweet.
In this video I show how I tried to make my own Wink of Stella pens. I think I need to get some floor wax. I got the idea from thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich. She has amazing ideas.
Here is the process video.

Thanks for stopping by and have a very crafty day!

Rolodex Card A Day 315

Happy Veterans Day!
I just can't let this day go by without a special card to say thank you to all those who work to keep us safe and free.
I can't remember if the stamp is a Stampin Up stamp. I made the greeting card, that I used for this,  a few years ago with the intention of sending it to my father or father in law.  Both passed away before I got around to sending this one.

Here is the process video showing how Rolodex Card A Day 315 came together.

Thanks to all the veterans out there!

Rolodex Card A Day 314

I am using another quote from that free calendar I picked up at St. Vinnie's.
The quote says, "Don't worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try." Jack Canfield
The image was also some free ephemera, advertising an art fair in the next town. I love the image but the artist who drew it was not mentioned.
Here is the process video were I share how I created this card. It is just a little over 3 minutes. It took longer than that. Aren't you glad I know how to edit and fast forward. LOL

Thanks for stopping by and do some art today!

Rolodex Card A Day 313

St. Vinnie's always has a few calendars by the door that are free. I always take a look because a calendar has great potential for art. The last one I brought home has 12 great quotes and some very nice art.
Rolodex Card A Day 313 was inspired by one of the quotes .

Here is the process video that tells what I used.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Rolodex Card A Day 312

Todays Rolodex Card was inspired by the movie Hugo Cabret.  I had use this image from Graphic 45 on another card and a my friend Regina told me the image was from the movie Hugo Cabret.  The movie is about a 1902 director named George Melies. It is a wonderful story.
Here is the card.
I had so fun using a couple of embossing folders. On is the filmstrip and the other is the Ticket.
Here is the process video.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
