Here is the jar.

This is the lid.

This is how it ended up after a little bit of glass etching, some felt, ribbon and doodads.
Can you see the candy cane? There is a candy cane, a tree and a ginger bread boy etched in the class.

Mail Art

The theme for the Mail Art Swap at Your Paper Pantry this month is Art of the State. The goal was to tell something about your state. Well since it is fall and football season I just had to pull out my favorite Peachy Keen stamps and some old state maps to make my envelopes.
Oh and a little duct tape for good measure. I added some post cards and one post card that I made.
Here is the video.

You have two more days to sign up for the swaps at YPP. It is a lot of fun. I hope to see you there.

Thanks for stopping and have a wonderful weekend,

Raisin Boat Challenge #5 Treats

It's time for another fun challenge here at the Raisin Boat Blog! This month, we want you to show us how you dress up a treat.  It can be a box, tins, bottles, or just cover a candy wrapper.

Raisin Boat offers a great selection of fun alterable products, if you're looking for something to "dress up" with your stamps. Check them out here! They make perfect goodies for Halloween and Christmas, which will be here before you know it!

I used a Raisin Boat Clear Pillow Box Small. I stamped the eyeball from the Halloween All Around set on Brighton Beach White cardstock and wrapped it around Smarties Candy and put them in the pillow box. Then I used Sealed with a Kiss to stamp the jar and the set Do Not Enter to create the spooky treat box.
The ribbon is Raisin Boat Gingham 1/4" Black/White and Rafia Natural Mix. I love working with the raffia, it is great stuff.

This month... you can use any stamp set you have (you don't have to limit your entry to Raisin Boat stamps). That's right, use any stamp set you wish for this treat challenge, but if you use a Raisin Boat stamp set, it will count as two entries. That gives you twice the chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

Something NEW this month... To get three chances to win a free Raisin Boat stamp set, invite a friend to play along with our challenge. If you get a friend to enter the challenge and he or she mentions your name, you will get your name entered three times and triple your chance to win a free set!

So, in summary:

1. Your name is entered once for joining the challenge.
2. Your name is entered twice if you use Raisin Boat stamps. AND
3. Your name is entered three times if you do 1 and 2 and get a friend to join the challenge.

I hope you will join the challenge this month at the Raisin Boat Blog. You could win a stamp set of your choice. The hard part will be picking out the set when you win.

Here is how I made my treat box.

If you need more inspiration be sure to check out the rest of the design teams creations.

LESSology Challenge #19

Hi Everyone the challenge this month at LESSology is called Mirror, mirror on the wall. I thought and though what can I do. Well I was at a hotel and was in need of a magnifying mirror.  I am getting old and can not get my eye make up on with out one. LOL There wasn't any around. When I got hope I remembered I had my four Mary Kay mirrors from when I sold MK. I got one out and thought here is my project. I took the mirror that looked like this.
Then I up-cycled it to look like this.
With a little Graphic 45 paper, an old linen napkin, some bling and glue I now have a very pretty mirror to hang in my bathroom and to take when I go on a trip.

Here is the video of how I made the transformation.

And the Prize Is....
Our sponsor for this challenge is Spellbinders.

The winner of this challenge will win a Spellbinders Nestabilities set and pouch. Design team member Julie Tucker-Wolek has also added in an Artbin Magnetic Die Storage Case for the winner. Awesome prize, don't you think?

Now head over to LESSology and see what the rest of the team has created. You have until November 4, 11:59pm EST to join the challenge
I can't wait to see what you create!

Wine Bottle Swap

I have so much fun getting involved in swaps over at Your Paper Pantry. The last one I was in was to decorate a wine bottle. My partner and I decided on a Halloween or Steampunk theme. Mine turned out more Halloween. I had so much fun.
Here is the box and bottle.
You can't see the skeleton with green eyes inside the bottle. There is also a light in the bottom that changes colors.
Here is a video of how I created the bottle and the box.
I had so much fun creating this for Stacie Ann who is bitchycat1 on You Tube.
She has a video up too. The box must have gotten there today. I was so happy to see that it got there in one piece.

Fun fun card making weekend!

Hi everyone I had such a fun weekend. My best friend and I went to Il. for a Friday evening card making event. We now have 40+ cards. Then Saturday we drove into Chicago to see her cousin who was the curator of an amazing art show on Navy Pier. He came in from LA. Then we met up with my oldest son and his girl friend had lunch and went back to the art show. After that we went to an Irish Pub and had a wonderful visit. I had not see my son since Christmas.  Today we stopped at IKEA on our way home. It was an amazing weekend.
Here is the video of the card I made for the card event.

Gift Card Holder

I made a gift card holder out of the same design I used on the Halloween treat bags.

It unfolds and has three pockets for gift cards. This isn't a good picture because it is a screen shot. I forgot to take a picture and I have it wrapped and ready to give to my dear friend.
If you want to see what it looks like here is the video.
