Guess What?

I went out with a friend yesterday to find a new kitty. She knew all the best places because she just helped her daughter get her first "on her own" kitty. Then having a bad case of kitty envy she got a new kitty for herself. So she knew just what to do. Bonnie is the sweetest friend.
First we went to Mounds Pet Center and all they had were older cats and most were spoken for. Then we went to the Feral Cat Society and they just had two females and I wanted a male kitten.
Well at the first place I saw the adorable kitty carrier and Max hated the one I had so I thought this soft side one would be great. Maybe the kitty would like to ride in this.

Covered Pet Carrier in Hawaiian Flower

Yes I got the bag first. That way I knew I would get a new kitty. Isn't it adorable?

The last place we went way the Dane County Humane Society. It is a brand new facility and it is a wonderful place.  Well the first kitty was young and very frighten. She just got there and wouldn't be ready for a home until 4/4. Remember I wanted a male and a kitten. Well they didn't have any. So I asked to look at one more kitty.  They had named her Gueniviere and when she came in the room she just melted on my lap. Then she reached up an patted my chin. Well I was done in. We have renamed her Lucy.

They think she is about 2 but when I take her to the vet they will have a better idea. She is so sweet and pretty.
Lucy is 7 pounds and just seems like a little feather. At the shelter they spayed her, put a chip in her so if she gets lost. She was also given her shots and several test.
We had a 45 min ride in the car and she was so good. She she never made a sound.
Lucy has been checking out her new house and seems to like it very much. She has been at my side every since she got here. The reason I wanted a kitten is that I wanted to train them to like to ride in the car and not be afraid of the vacuum. Lucy has past both test. She is very laid back.

I will always miss my Max but it feels so good to be able to give another sweet little furry friend a good home.

Merry Card Monday

I got another Christmas card made this morning. This one is for Merry Card Monday. Here is the sketch.
I got some new Raisin Boat stamps last weekend at the Madison Mingle. Bobbie and Kim, the owners, came and did a demonstration. They have a LOT of new products And!!! they have added a new program to their rental program call Keepers. It is another great idea of theirs.
Here is the card I created using the stamp set called Silent Night.

I got this set because I love the trees. They will be great on so many other projects.
I clear embossed the base card with the big snowflake from the set. The trees and small snow flakes are embossed with white. I glitter the trees but it isn't showing up. The other snowflakes are buttons.  I just love the font on the Silent Night.
Take some time to checked out Raisin Boat Stamps. I know you find something you love.

Christmast Card Challenge week #17

Hi Everyone, I want to thank you all for your sweet comments and support with the passing of my dear Max. You will never know how much it meant to me. Thank You!

Today I cleaned and enlarged my craft area. I am not sure making it bigger was a good idea.  Now I have more room to mess up and no more storage. What was I thinking.
I also took some time to make a card for Chirstmas Card Challenge week #17.

I wasn't so sure about this color combo but when I looked through my Cosmos Cricut Christmas paper I found some with purple, pink green and white.
Here is the card I made.
I used the SU Stocking die to make a shape card. Then because I needed to cute two I made two cards. Here is the second card.
I don't have purple distress ink. It really makes a difference for shading. I guess that goes on the shopping list. LOL

Thanks again for all your wonderful comments,
Hugs,

A Heavy Heart

Hi Dear Friend,  I am writing tonight with a very heavy heart. That handsome wonderful cat you see every time you open my bog has past away.  I can't even find the words to express how sad I am. Max has been there for me through a lot of hard times.  He sat next to me with every post I have written on this blog. He encouraged me when I needed encouragement and he comforted me when I need that. I am going to miss the thud he makes when he jumps on my bed every night and purr that would put me to sleep.   He was so smart.  I don't know if I every told you but when he was a kitten I taught him how to sit and roll over.
We don't know what happen. We came home and found him.  He hasn't been sick.  But he hasn't want to go outside at all, and he had a different kind of meow at night.  He still was playing and eating.  Max was 14 years old.  He was the best kitty every.
I do want to thank Max for all that he has given me because I am sure it is much more than I gave to him.

I am going to miss him very very much.

Another Christmas Card

This is the sketch for Merry Monday Challenge #12.
This is a great sketch. So many possibilities.
Here is may card.
I used a Nestiblities cut for the top. The poinsettia are buttons and the center part is a chipboard embellishment. I used a SU embossing folder on the base card.
Here is a peek at the inside to see the lining I made.
It sure seems a lot easier making these cards now than in November and December. The pressure is off.  It  is great to have a sketch or a challenge as a starting point to give you direction for making your cards. Another good thing is I am using up all my Christmas stash without being bombarded with all kinds of new Christmas paper and embellishments.

Have a great day!

Madison Mingle

I am so excited that it is finally time for the Madison Mingle. If you are wondering what  the Madison Mingle is well it is a gathering of stampers who each bring a shoebox project for the others to complete. We also have demonstrations, a huge rummage sale of great bargains, fantastic door prizes, contests, trades if desired, a Copic class, lots of laughter and sharing of great ideas. We each will go home with as many projects as there are participants and many fond memories. This is my third year attending. This is the first time I am taking things to sell in the rummage sale. Wish me luck. It would be nice to earn enough to pay for next year.
Last week I watched videos by PoconoPam and lionpaw55 showing what they packed for a crop they were attending.  Lisa and Yolanda (lionpaw55) asked if I would show what I packed for the mingle so here is the video.

Christmas Card Challenge week #16

The challenge this week at Christmas Card Challenge is a shape card.

I am super busy this week getting ready for the Madison Mingle. I am taking lots of stuff for the sale and  I had to get my box of 50 card kits ready to go. But I really want to keep up with make my  Christmas cards. Here is the one for Challenge Week #16
I used one of my bell shape bases that I have in my store. That wonderful snowflake I won from Holly at Hogwild About Stamping. I would love to learn how to make them. She gave it to me a year ago and I just couldn't use it but this paper had snowflakes and I just thought it would look great. The "Joy" is a die cut stamp set. I cut it and stamped it with silver ink. The bells I cut from silver paper. I also added a grommet and cord to the top so it could be hung. It is prettier in real life. The tinsel really sparkles.

I am just about done with my Merry Monday card and I will post that tomorrow.
Off to do a lot of packing.

Have a wonderful day.
