Color Challenge #50

This past week I have been watching the little red buds on the trees and all the yellow finches in the trees. That is a sure sign that winter is over here in Wisconsin. YEA! That was the inspiration for this card. The colors are inspired by Kristine Warner for her #50 Color Challenge. Kristine is giving some very nice prizes for this challenge. She is the one who should be getting a prize for offering 50 Color Challenges and picking the top 10. I can’t imagine how much time most go in to these challenges. Her "Make a Card Monday" and all the entries for the challenges are so inspiring.
Now about the card. I just love this stamp. It is called Branch Out by Stampin Up. When I was very little I use to tell people that I use to be a tree and when I grow up I was going to be a very tall tree. I stamped the tree with brown, the buds with red. This is my first time using heat embossing. The little yellow finches are done with Zing Embossing power. The boots are turquoise and the card stock behind the stamped picture is on turquoise card stock. Behind that is a strip of red with a strip of brown on top of that. The ribbon is brown with white diamonds on it. The base card is yellow card stock,

Rainbow

I see the most amazing things every day on the back country roads that I drive to work. Most of the time it is an animal but today it was this beautiful rainbow. I pull off the road four time to just look and to get a picture.
Let me know what you think.

More Blog Candy

Two post in one day. Wow that is a lot for a Wednesday, but I had to post this. Look at this candy! Go to http://passionforcrafts.blogspot.com/ and read all about it. The blog is called Passion for Crafts and it is by Debbie Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Check it out and wish her a Happy Blogoversary!

There is more wonderful blog candy at http://jeanette-happythoughtsinkspots.blogspot.com/. Jeanette has the cutest stamps from Whiff of Joy. I am trying to find out how to buy them in the US. I found her blog from Passion for Crafts. There is a lot of blog candy out there and a lot of wonderful card blogs. I could stay up all night but I don't thing I would be any good to my 17 first graders tomorrow if I did that.

Good Morning,
I just felt I need to put up a different card. I was tired of seeing the one from last Sunday. I haven't had time to make a card this week put this is one I made with my Cricut and a Stampin Up stamp. I saw it in the Stampin up idea book. I didn't have the letter stamps so I cut them out. Let me know what you think.

Week Twelve Challenge at Color Create

Hi, Here are the cards that I made for Week Twelve Challenge at Colour Create www.colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/
The colors are black, white and pink. I made two and can’t decide which one I like better. Tell me what you think.
The first card I made I used my Cricut Plantin SchoolBook to cut the city. I chalked the background pink and Stamped the sentiment with Stampin Up stamp Heard from the Heart with basic black ink. The black and white checked ribbon was something that I just had.

For this card I used Black Majic card stock. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the dotted swiss embosser. Then I sanded it to make the pink core show up. The white flower was cut with my Cuttlebug using QuicKutz "Award Ribbon." The butterfly was stamped on pink card stock using black ink. The stamp was called Butterfly Wings from Close to My heart. The butterfly head was a pearl from K and Company and the gems on the wings are from Hero Arts. I used a white ribbon then a thinner pink one and tied a bow. I don't think the colors show up very good here.
Let me know what you think.

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Hi, It’s a rainy Monday. A great day to make cards. The one I made today was just for fun. I got the stamp last weekend at a used stamp and scrap sale. It was something! A lot of pushing and grabbing but a lot of good deals. The stamp is from Great Impressions it is G194. I colored it with Stampin’ Up watercolor pencils and I used a Close to my Heart blending pen. That was fun to do. I used certainly celery paper and ribbon. The background paper was Delicate Dots Designer paper, all from Stampin’ Up. The flower was cut and embossed with Cuttlebug’s Build-a-Flower die. That was my new toy this weekend. I wasn’t sure if I should cut then emboss or the other way around. It worked best when I cut then embossed. I use a little removable adhesive to keep it in position. The sentiment is something I typed on my computer. When I call my oldest son he always says "What's Up" instead of saying Hello. It makes me laugh everytime. Let me know what you think or advice to make it better.

Color Inspiration #48
This is the first card I have entered in Kristen’s color challenge. I have loved all the card and wanted to give it a try. Let me know how I did.
I used: Stampin Up chocolate chip for the base card, then whisper white ink for the Stampin Up Stamp Heard for the Heart. I punched the kiwi kiss border with a Fiskers boarder punch. The printed paper is SU Delicate Dots Series Paper. The flowers are from SU Flower Fusion Too. I forget were I got the the white ribbon and the button.
