Stamp Scrap Doodle Saturday

Happy Saturday Everyone,
It is time for another Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturday Challenge. I am so excited because this week we are apart of the Operation Write Home Birthday Blog Party.
Photobucket

Our challenge is to make a birthday card. Our sponsor this week is Craft Brulee .
You could win a $10 voucher to their store.

The only difference in our challenge this week is that we are asking you to send your cards into OWH for our troups.
Here is my card.
Cards for Operation Write Home need to be simple, and because I was in Chicago with very limited supplies it was easy to make a simple card. I uses another one of By LORi Designs
This is one of the images from the Grandparents image. It is so virisital you can use it in many way. I didn't have any stamps so I cute out the HB by hand. The coins are from those earrings I used in the last card. I used my Score Buddy to add embossing to the card and the paper behind the man. I didn't have black card stock with me. I made my own by coloring with a Copic marker. It is amazing what you can do when you don't have all your favorite stuff with you.

Here is some information on OWH

OWH supports our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. Our 'birthday' (anniversary of our official registration as an org) is Sept 12th — but we're stretching the party to last all month!
Operation Write Home began in 2007 with just a few cards made by friends on a message board; what began as an outlet for a hobby has become a much larger mission to help heroes keep in touch with home - and the effort has been joined by thousands of cardmakers!
OWH receives handmade cards donated by crafters across America (and beyond!). Cardmakers range in age, location, and level of skill; cards are provided by individuals and groups, schools and scouts, companies and churches. All have one primary thing in common: a desire to serve those who defend our nation!
Cards are mailed to one of our volunteer shippers in quanities both small and large. The shippers process, sort, repair, and document each donation, and then pack and ship boxes of over 300 cards each to our contacts. Our heroes request cards (families may also request on their behalf; we serve all branches in all deployed locations.
Tax-deductible donations of any size keep this work going - from $1 to any amount - and can be included with card donations to any shipper, mailed separately, or via Paypal.

I just think this is a wonderful organization and I am so happy to help our nation's armed forces any way I can. You can go to their blog to find out more information about this amazing group. I hope you will join us.

Thanks for stopping,
