World Card Making Day Gold

Hi Everyone, Happy World Card Making Day! I hope you got to make a card or two. My hubby is doing so well I was able to make a card. Thank goodness for lots of football and the Wisconsin Badgers win:) This card is for my in-laws 65 wedding anniversary. Can you imagine 65 years? They were married October 7, 1944. They married right in the middle of the WWII. They met in England. That makes Gary's mom, Mary, was a war bride. My parent were married the same year and my mother's name was Mary also. They met in Atlantic City. Dad worked on the boardwalk. He ran the farris wheel on Steal Pier. Mom worked in the biggest hotel on the boardwalk. My parents lived long enough to make it to their 62 anniversary. Gary's parents still live in their home. Do you know that there is not a gem for 65 years? I was going to make the card to go with the gem. The only thing I could find was; "65 - iron, The married couple have experience the vicissitudes of almost an entire human lifetime: often that demands an iron will." It does take a strong person to have a successful 65 year marriage. I guess the post on the card could be made of iron since I used black ink. I ended up using gold because Potluck Challenge #33 at stamp TV is to use gold. The stamp set is called Elegant Post by Nina Brackett. The white card stock is Pure Luxury 80 and 120lb. The gold card stock and ribbon is something I had. The gold embossing powder by Stampendous Jeweled Gold. The little flowers are from Hero Arts. I am happy I could make a card today.
Thanks for stopping and please let me know you were hear and what you think.

Linda, what a beautiful card for your in-laws. (Glad to hear DH is doing well!) I love the story of how your parents met!!! I always read about Atlantic City and Steel Pier, but we were Delaware beach-goers, we rarely went to NJ!!! Precious card--love the image and the reference to "iron"! You're so sweet!!
